If your child was on drugs

What would you do? If you offered them all the support and love they needed and they still didn't want to help themselves, how far would you go to save them? Would you go to hell and back, go into debt or fall into a depression to save your child or would you just say 'enough's enough' and cut him or her off all together?

Hi coffee, I would send him/her to a rehab centre and forced them to stay there till he/she is clean, as I don't have any kids, I won't really know how I would feel or how I would cope but if that don't help and I may have to cut myself off to bring him/her back to senses. Tamara

Yes, it would be a totally different experience actually going through it as a parent.

I would try to help them if I could. If that didn't work, I would get them some help in some kind of program or something.

Hi Coffeeshot, I would do anything possible to help them, but lucky I haven't been in that position thank God, and I hope I will not be. I can imagine for the parents who have, its a very different story. They most of gone through hell and back, it must be terrible for all concerned

It would be very hard Amanda. As a parent your emotions would be on a huge roller coaster ride. Disappointment, anger, sadness, frustration, self blame etc.
