Having a FAT day!! What do you do?

Ever just have a fat day? You know, one of those feel-disgusting-in-all-your-clothes, sluggish, never want to see food again kind of days? What do you do at those times? You can always tell I'm having one of those days by my wearing the biggest tshirt I could find from hubby's side of the closet. Yeah, I know, the last thing I should wear on a day like today, but that is my natural tendency. It could be the mushroom swiss burger and french fries that I ate for dinner last night at 8:00. Ya think?? I feel like putting nothing but brocoli in my mouth for the next 3 days. I have already been on a brisk walk.... that felt like I was walking in mud, sat outside in the sun...... hoping vitamin D would give me a boost and just now I'm finishing my water allotment for the day and it's only 1:00. What do you do on your FAT days???

*L* Hmmmmm, I just don't get dressed! No, I don't run around naked or anything. I just stay in my jammies. Of course, that doesn't do anything to help the situation, but I do it anyway.

No more moping and feeling sorry for yourself..... come have some sister chat and we will just laugh it all off. Man, I'm gonna love having you around here again. xxx

OOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Hey ! I really like this post ! I have those days all the time LOL and kinda go in hibernation mode in the winter time . Usually , when I eat all the wrong stuff i will work my bum off all the next week , and eat real light . I have always been at war with my weight . What sucks is I am the slowest loser in the world , and if I even have one taste of something I gain . But i can feel with a weekend of eating that my clothes are tighter , and my fiance think im nuts LOl . but the scales dont lie !!!!! water helps , and counting cals , and boxed food , with lots of fruit , and grains . just feel yourself up , ya know!!!!!!!!1

I simply can not think of putting brocolli in my mouth for three days however fat my day was. I try and avoid fatty stuff stuff for a few days but unable to do so and this is the reason why I am gaining so much of weight. I wish I could also think of something nice to eat which is less in calories also.

I have had many issues with food myself, so often we eat out of stress, boredom, skipped meals. When you find yourself in this position, STOP and think am I really hungry, your body will let you know. Some ideas are talking to a friend, hobby, take a long hot bath, read. This may be a sign of an eating disorder which is so common now and killing so many because designers want "coat hangers" to show off their wierd designs. We are taught it is bad to eat, but like a car if you do not fuel it, stops running. So take 10 minutes to see if indeed your hungry, have nutritious snacks readily available, like fruit, veggies, a few nuts. They have all those new packages from about every company and food that are 100 calories. So if your hungry and need food eat it, if not try the above suggestions. But please remember eating disorders, over eating is one of them, but they kill so many. Why you know what is important is who you are on the inside, are you a good person, friend, family member etc.. That is what counts not how much you eat or weigh, now being over weight is just as serious. My main point in dealing with this subject through my education and experiences. Think of what is really important, if someone only likes you for your looks, get rid of them. I hope maybe I have helped you with ideas, if I can be of more help please contact me and I am very happy to talk, privately if you like? Good luck and please take care of yourself, I see a few danger signs and this eating disorder that kills 1/3 of people needs to have more attention brought to it, this is a disease just like being a diabetic. All my best wishs for you and I am again happy to talk to you or anyone reading this?

Fresh fruit seems to help me the most on days like that. I also enjoy tea, just tea, no sugar, no sweetener of any kind, lemon maybe. Lemon in water is good. Iced drinks are more likely to perk me up and make me less sluggish as well. I think fresh pineapple is probably the very best fruit to make me feel like I am functioning well.

Hi makingpots! haha..I do have those days when I ate so much the day before. I love to eat but sometimes, I can't control myself from all the food infront of me. Guess, I am a glutton on special occasions. So, whenever I have those fat days..I avoid the mirror and I avoid going out. I would be very disappointed if I get to go out and can't seem to find suitable clothes that will make me look and feel sexy! I do a lot of cleaning in the house to work up a sweat because I am just to lazy to do repetitive exercise. And I cut down on my food servings. take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

On those days i try to avoid eating more and just skip one or 2 meals. And sure some days and some times make me depress without any reason, specially in evening of winters, then i just try to divert my attention, read some book, watch some program, stuff like that Take care

I don't usually have fat days so much as ugly days. I just feel gross all together - body, face, hair, the works. On those days I just stay in my PJs or a huge sweater and track pants and hit the couch. This is the absolute worst way to deal with these days, it just makes me feel worse about myself. Luckily I don't have them very often and at least in the summer I can go out side and play in the garden or even just sit in the sun to make myself feel better.

Hi, jesssp. Luckily I don't have these days often either. Funny, I can almost always tie it back to something disgusting I have eaten. And, I know what you mean.....the face feels greasy, the hair gets just pulled up in a ponytail, ugghh.... you just feel it all over.

hello...I am having one of those days also..I have lots of them. I am supposed to follow a rather strict diet and when I dont, I punish myself. I also tend to put on comfy oversized clothes thinking its going to make me feel more comfortable,,,NOT!! Fatter and frumpier maybe!!I would think going for a nice brisk walk would help. Today I was watching WHAT Not to WeAR ....on tv and got to thinking, maybe I need to go out for a day browsing and trying on different styles of clothes than I would normally wear. NOt buy them, but just try them on and see what I think!..Also I think I will go have my hair done..I think its time for a girly day for me! If I do that along with watching what I eat for the next few days, I think I will get over this slump!

Ha, we think alike. Girly days often do some good for me too. The brisk walk did help afterall. I have lost the frumpy tshirt and have changed into clothes that fit... maybe more snuggly than I'm happy with, but I feel like I look better. And yes..... pay attention to what and WHEN I eat the next couple of days. Note to self: grease intake after about 7pm is probably not a good idea!

OMG, I know that - too well. What do I do? Guess I wear something bigger, more comfortable, which hides my body rather than show it. Usually on such days I wanna eat the whole house, so diets are no good for me then. The best option is to go to fitness - which takes a lot of strong will, as I feel like staying home and depressing myself and eating more. But usually I manage to do that - to almost kill myself from exercise, then go home, hurting all over, eat normally and go to bed. The next day - I'm ok. :)

I knnnnooooowwwww, why does it seem that 'getting a little more exercise' is the answer to most things? Just can't always drag myself out to do it. Lucky for me it has been a beautiful spring like day here and I WANTED to be out in it.

It must be a universal fat day! I'm having one too. I feel bloated and uncomfortable. I hate that heavy feeling! I try to wait it out, but it hasn't worked so tomorrow, I will get up and do a liquid diet for the day. That usually helps me since its usually water retention.

Love yourself in spite of it and give yourself a little pick me up. This could be anything from buying yourself a gift as small as a pack of gum to fixing your hair in a fancy style or painting your nails. On my fat days (which come monthly like clockwork) I wear a nice but loosefitting dress that is comfortable, attractive and a nice color. I always get compliments on my appearance so I don't worry about it too much. Chances are you only look like you're having a fat day to yourself and everyone else will think you look fine.
