Do you collect foreign money? (Bills, coins, etc). I personally have a few dollars (yen) from Japan, and a few Euros from my friend's trips overseas. I personally think that foreign money just looks COOL! What about you guys? Do you collect any kind of foreign money? If so, which kinds do you have? If not, why not? And do you think collecting foreign currency is bad for the economy? Thanks in advance! =)

Yes I do collect foreign money. I also collect old money. I started this hobby when I was really young (gradeschool). Most of the money are given to me by my relatives and friends. I have Singapore dollars, China RMB, Indonesian rupiah, Malaysian ringgit, Hongkong dollars and a few Euros.

I have foreign currency that I have kept as souvenirs. I have a coin from Spain that is sooo tiny. I think it fits on my pinky nail. Of course that was from before the Euro took its place. I have a note (bill) of the Scottish pound. When I was there I didn't even realize Scotland had its own currency, because everyone used the British pound. When I found out I found someone to give me change in the Scottish notes instead of British notes. I actually liked when they had different currencies for the different European countries. It was like a different memory from every country. I have some Colones from Costa Rica. I actually kept them, because I planned on going back one day. You never can get enough of all the monkeys! I have currency from Morrocco, which I thought was pretty cool.

I have an album full of foreign notes and bills. The most interesting ones of these came from the Cook Islands. I have a triangular coin from there and a three dollar note. I am very keen on traveling and like to bring back currency because it reminds me of the countries that I have visited. I also collect postcards from the places that I have been to. I don't think that collecting currency is bad for the economy.

well, i think i still have a good collection of money from 1980 from my country, from yours, USD, but i`m having some recent ones. I have a lot of coins, bills, just a few, more just from my country, but coins, i think i have from a lot of countries. I don`t think that just 25 cents or something like that will affecct the economy. And, there aren`t so many that collects all kind of money... In my country, it`s LEU ( the lion) that`s the name of my money. Good luck in collecting foreign money.

I used to have a collection of foreign bills and coins, but I'm not sure where it went. It was in a tin. It probably is at my parent's house. I had coins from Belgium, France, and England from years and years ago--before there were Euros. I have more recent money from Australia and Russia, too. Other country's money is cool. Some have animals on it and two types of metal. Things that are different are cool. No I doubt keeping some foreign money will hurt the economy.
