having a great friend

A life without friendship is terrible and lonely. We are social beings and friendship is incredibly important part of our lives. Isn't it?
Does anyone here can say that he/she has found a great friend? A friend who will always be present in times of laughters & much more in time of sobs.

Yes,you are right in saying that a life without friendship is terrible and lonely. I once felt so lonely and in those days I composed a poem about my loneliness. Here is the link:

After a few years, I got some great friends but they are far away now and we are not in touch any more.

same here..sometimes when im so lonely i do make poems..^^ and it somehow eases my loneliness..^^

I strongly agree with what you said in your post. No one can live by himself or herself alone. We all need somebody to lean on.I am a quiet type of person and do not like to belong to a social group.I prefer having 1 or 2 friends only.I can say that I have 4 great friends when I was in high school. When we graduated from high school, we all parted ways. But despite our busy schedules when we were in college, we do not forget each other. Thanks to technology that it makes the communication possible.They are very great friends. They are with me not only in happy moments but on down moment as well. They are always there to lend a hand, give a hug, and say something which can make me smile or relieve with my problems.
However, because of the difficulties in life and very busy schedule, we rarely find time to communicate with each other. But even though, that is what going on between the 4 of us, we know in our hearts that we 4 will remain friends forever.I have also a great friend from other country. And he is my boyfriend also. We are best friends before but then he courted me.He support me all throughout my college days. Even though, he is not here physically, but still he cares for me in every way he can do. He send messages on my emails and call me on phone whenever I am in trouble. He try to understand me even I am in a very bad mood.

I have had many good close friends over the years. A lot of times they move or we get involved in activities that don't relate to each other. We drift apart but the friendship was so close that when we meet again we can pick up where we left off in the friendship.
I guess my best friend is my daughter and my sisters. My husband is my partner for life and even though he also is a friend he is much much more than that.
