Do you sometimes go beyond 3 emoticons/ smileys? I find I'm doing that a lot!~

Hi! I just recently got to the 200 mark. I was so excited that I finally earned the use of the emoticons that I ended up putting several in my post. I hit send and got the red warning. I have done it on accident a couple times since. I thought it was weird that we are only able to express ourselves 3 times in each post, but I was thinking that maybe if you put too many it might mess up their calculations for long posts. Sometimes when I realize I have too many emoticons it makes me to pick which ones I have to delete. But, it does make me that I can use at least a few.

Hello zweeb82! I sometimes got a message that I am not allowed to have more than 3 emoticons. The first time I received it was last year and that I was really curious why I my message haven't sent yet. Then I read below in red color that I have more than 3 emoticons and so I have to erase some of them. I really had a hard time choosing which emoticons to erase because all the emoticons there are relevant to me.

True.At times I get exited and and try to apply many smilys.It is a pity that we are allowed only three.But anyway something is better than nothing.

Oh hell yeah, it happened to me a lot when the emoticons were first introduced to mylot. In the other forum that I frequent, the limit is 8. So I go so used to 8 that I kept forgetting that I am in mylot when I am posting. Now, I am more cautious when I use my emoticons when posting long replies or discussions. 3 is too little for a social forum. So it is precious with each post!

I think it usually happens when I'm so excited typing away & enjoying myself You said it there zweeb! They just add to the fun and more often than not I find myself being scolded cos I used too many Sometimes it seems like Big Brother is right here when we're posting, watching and ready to tap us on the zhoulder

when i first started using them i got that message a few times but now i rarely use them but maybe 1 time at most.. i guess the newness wore off lol

I can really tell that you're fond of using emoticons. It never happened to me because I rarely use emoticons here. Maybe I use it when I want someone to feel good or something but most of my posts doesn't have one. I guess it's a hassle for me..

I don't think I do. But, to be honest, I have never stopped to count. I can say never gotten the Halt message though.

I get caught doing that all the time! LOL I wish we had more of them and could use more per post. I could write a whole discussion just using emoticons! ROFL

Well, I only put at least 1 emoticons in my post. I sometimes go to three but usually on rare occasions. It does not mean however that I am not emotional or I post without much thought or emotions on my reply. I just find it okay to just use one.

hello there, yes, in the beginning when i didn't know that the maximum limit for emoticons is three here,i did get a red message alert. .........It happened two or three more times before i got used to it....and i i count my smileys while typing....i usually don't use more than three....but i like using smileys frequently....so, i post 3 in almost all my posts. by the way, i thing "three" is very less....i think mylot should raise this limit. happy mylotting.....and have a nice day..

I usually dont tend to use a lot of smileys/emtions on my disscussions and responses. I find that if the forum I am using doesnt hide them away before I ask to use them, I will use maybe one or two. But if they are hidden away on the post screen, I tend not to bother.

lol I do not use much emoticons but I will try and use some more! its fun!

Actually I haven't really counted or noticed how many I really use. But I think it's about 2 only. I tend to type away and then forget about the myLot code on the left side for us to put emos in the respond. I think I use the laugh out loud emoticons the most.

I've got that message once.I deleted one,and the red message was still there,then I found I used 5 actually in that post.Since then,I watch maximum usage of smileys in a single post.Happy mylotting!
