the royal mail ..

IN GREAT BRITAIN we still have letters delivered to our doors every day ..i see this as a waste of man power and money .. the post office is losing money all the time .. im wondering what happens in other countries .. I dont need my post delivered to my home every day and could collect from a post office or have a delivery once each week ..A daily service could go out to all busines premises as needed . people walking the streets to deliver the post seems so out dated in this era of great communication advancement.. I have all my bills paid my direct debit and recieve reciepts on E mail, i communicate with my friends and family through social networks .. Most of the mail that comes through my door is JUNK and is thrown straight in the recycling .. I think its time that an overview of the royal mail service was made a priority to ensure its future ..

In the USA we get our mail every day but Sunday and national holidays. The Post Office is considering a five day week though by eliminating Saturday delivery because this would save money on fuel.
I think that if they do this they will also have to let employees go and that would be counter productive considering the amount of money our government is spending to creat jobs.

I live in the US and right now we have 6 day mail delivery. It would not bother me to pick up mail at the post office because I live fairly close but it wold be an inconvenience for many and a hardshiop for some. I think the mail delivery will continue but the post office is cutting back. My post office has discontinued evening hours and now closes at 5:00 PM (used to be 7:30 PM Mon thru Fri) and there is talk oc cutting back to a five day delivery schedule with no delivery on Saturday.
