i really like to download free things like firefox, avast, and other programs like that and i like to just go to the website and get it for free and i have found that filehippo.com has a lot of my programs for free but i have also found a few that they don't have and i was just wondering if anyone knew any free downloading websites like that, where you can download programs for free? so whats a good place to go and download free programs? i would like to take this time to thank everyone that has taken time out of their day to come by and read my discussion and hopefully provide an answer for my discussion, i hope that you all have a great and happy weekend, thanks once again for taking the time to come by and happy mylotting!

I always get free programs form the authors website. Just to make sure you don't get any viruses or spyware. I used to think download.com had a good selection. Softpedia was alright too. Now I'm in Ubuntu linux and live hand in hand with Synaptic. Maybe there is a similar program for Windows? or Mac even? You didn't specify OS but I assume Windows :) But if you haven't already tried download.com and softpedia.com give them a try :) Good luck!

It must be because we're both European :D If I didn't know better I'd say Scandinavian but I saw that you were from Estonia .______. Close enough ;)

You can try the most popular one, if you still do not know about it - www.download.com. They have a lot of software for Windows and Mac OS.

Try mininova.org, although you need a torrent client on most downloads. Most freeware, shareware, and paid programs are there. Also search for forums sharing warez but beware, you must have some robust computer security software (antispyware, antivirus) if ever you come across some nasty site. One of my safe bet is katz.cd where you can get paid programs for free, mostly hosted on some filesharing sites (rapidshare etc) add me up if anyone needs help.. ^.^
