The movie slumdog millionaire was niminated for 10 categories in the 81st academy awards and it won awards in 8 categories. AR rahman who scored the music for that movie won two oscars one for the song jai ho and another for the best original score. do u think the oscars is more prestigious awards than the national wards won by him.

Defenitely yes as Oscars are recognised internationally.Now after winning the Oscars A.R.Rahman is known outside of India as well & it will enhance his chances of composing more music to internatinal audience.
