I am celebrating after getting $29.50 in upfront payments from helium

March 1, 2009 6:23pm CST
I love helium writing site and I am spending more and more time there. I got credited with last month's upfront payments today and was glad to get $29.50 for my efforts. My daily revenue is increasing every day too due me adding more articles I plan to write at least 20 articles this month, and so far today have completed three articles. So mylotters do you like helium as much as I do, and did you earn any upfront payments this month?

Hello fellow helium writer. I have been on helium for about one year. I do love it. I really enjoy the article rating portion also because I learn so much. I got paid last year but I do not remember if it was $25 or $36. I do need to get more articles up and have been earning hits everyday on the ones I have written. The people who run the website are very easy to contact and I even had them give me a mentor on how to get my articles written better. I was surprised that they would give so much help. It truly is a very good site. I believe it is a good forum for getting your work seen and for helpful improvement.

Yes I agree there are a good variety of articles on helium and you do learn so much through rating as well as finding new titles to write on. I have never tried to get a mentor on helium but do spend alot of time on their forum now and I am pretty sure I am getting page views from there. I think this site is going to be around for a long long time. If you have writing stars I encourage you to write some articles. It feels great to get the upfront payments as well as rating bonus.

If you submit some articles to titles with more than 50 articles and you get in the top 8 or so you will increase your writing score. This is what I do when my score dips. Mine is just over the 85% so I have my bonus star. I reckon a writing score over 80% is excellent on helium as it is a site full of quality writers. I plan to leapfrog some of my articles too. I know if they were closer to number one they would earn me more revenue,

Right now I have three rating stars and two writing stars. I had three writing stars a couple of weeks ago but my article percentages dipped by a point and it was back to two writing stars. That's alright, I will just leapfrog a few articles and get them in a higher rating to bring up the percentages. I think my writing is around 84%. I think that's pretty good. I forget where you go on the site to get a mentor. It took me a while to find it.

Thanks for your response. Helium is a freelance writing site whereas payperpost is a site which pays you for blogging.

I made $27 in upfront payments + $4 in empty title bonuses. I earned around $25 in daily revenue in February too. My earnings increase as I continue to write new ones. I aim to write more in March, to add more upfront payments, empty titles, daily earnings, and hopefully some more Marketplace sales. I would like to be a 5 star writer and a 5 star rater. I have some way to go yet to reach that status, if I ever do. I like to try though.

Well done ruth. I am actually reading one of your articles at the minute, and am planning to write my own version to this title. I have followed your helium success for a while now and you are doing really well. I too would liek to be a five star writer, but will have to settle for my fourth star this year I think. Wont be that bad as then I can get $2 for upfront payments.

I have joined Helium in June last year, but never wrote an article, now this month I have written four articles but I have not gotten any upfront payment yet!Can you explain how I can get upfront payment for an article? I have also written a n article which there were no articles about, but still got nothing. Doesn't that qualify for an empty title bonus?

You need at least 1 Writing Star to qualify for upfront payments and empty title bonuses. To get a writing star your writing score needs to be at least 75%. If your writing score is about 85%, you get a bonus writing star. Keep in mind you also need at least 1 Rating star to get payments. All of this information can be found in the user guide, I recommend you check there.

Helium truly is an awesome site, I have been there for a few months and have enjoyed it a lot. I generally stick to the marketplace articles rather than the ones that earn residual income though. This week alone I have sold 2 articles to the marketplace, earning me an easy $40. It's the best site I have found to publish or sell your content, there is a very friendly community there willing to help you and Helium pays very well. I really should write more short articles to post on there though, from what I hear they can really add up over time.
2 Mar 09
Congrats on your marketplace sales. I havent yet ventured to the marketplace but I guess now that helium have introduced the marketplace kill fee I really should as I would have nothing to lose. I may pick articles which are paying less, ie the $24 and hopefully there will be less competition for them. As for the other upfront payments you really should submit some more if you run out of marketplace articles to write. The money does all add up and so does the daily revenue.

Congratulations on your payment, reaching that amount was never easy and i am certain that you are very delighted to receive your reward. I am a member of helium too yet not very active, guess i have been a member for few years now but the site has been down before for Philippine user so it makes me loose my interest and drive to continue as they open to international members again. Guess i have around $10 in my account there, and i don't know if i can be able to make it rise more, the minimum amount to receive payment is $20 i guess so i need $10 more to be able to expect payout.

I joined Helium a couple days ago and I'm sitting on 2 writing stars right now. 3 of my 5 articles are #1 and another is 4/18. I also submitted an article for the marketplace that was ranked 2/24 or so before it closed, so we'll see what happens with that. Overall right now, I've submitted 2 CW pieces and 5 articles + 1 Marketplace article. $7 in upfront payments thus far (I got $5 from the first article bonus) and fifty cents from page views. Slow and steady :) The money is a bonus for me, I enjoy writing and Helium works wonders to help me improve it.

That is good going getting your stars so quickly. Well done on getting started with marketplace right away, thats where the real money is. I have been at helium almost a year and I am ashamed to say I havent attempted this yet. My writing isnt brilliant but isnt poor either. As for your revenue share, I have noticed since helium's page rank improved that revenue improved with it. More and more readers are coming to helium each month, and this can only mean more money for us the writers. Good luck

I have never heard of this site before. If it is genuine as you say it sounds quite good. If I get a chance I will have a look. However writing articles has never really been one of my best talents!

I'm also celebrating. While I only wrote one article in February I am glad to have received my 5 extra bucks (2 for the article, 3 for 5-rating-star-bonus) thus bringing my total to 27ish bucks! I don't write nearly as much as I should, anywhere from 1-6 articles a month. However it is so nice to see how well I'm rewarded.

Yes it all adds up. $27 means you can request payout now. I am hoping to secure a monthly payout from this site from now on. It will be hard work initially as my revenue share will be low and I will need to write many articles to get to $25 but hopefully it will get easier.

With the new upfront payments you should be able to make payout quicker. For examples of my articles check out my helium profile, which is under my profile picture, on my profile page. I write on a variety of topics, some which I am knowledgable about and others which I have to research.

Congratulations on getting payments from helium. I have been getting good reviews about helium from mylot community and i have also signed up the site but i have not yet submitted any article.I really want to write as a freelance writer but a bit hesitant to start because English is not my native language and i think i am just an average user of it.But definitely collect the courage to start off one day. Happy mylotting.

I absolutely love Helium! And, I received some upfront payments yesterday. I have not gotten as much money as you, but so far I have only written 6 articles. I am too spread out right now writing for several different sites. I said just yesterday to my husband that I plan to finish out this month and get paid on the others, and then devote my time mostly to Helium. Good luck with it! Sounds like you are going to do very well on that site.
2 Mar 09
Thanks for your response. I am so busy with so many things that I cannot dedicate enough time to any of my sites, which is a little frustrating. The upfront payments do help me to stay motivated on helium, and I will keep writing enoughh to reach payout every month.
