Give a Penny ... Take a Penny

I was just thinking and was wondering if there is enough honesty in this world to send a dollar through u.s. postal mail to someone, have them add a dollar, and then send it on... like a chain letter, except it be a chain letter of money. Of any currency, but it would have to be the actual money and not a check or money order, or any other thing such as an IOU. Do you think that there is enough honest people in this world that by the time it got back to the original sender, there'd be the same amount of money as their is people. Ofcourse taking into consideration different currencies. So what do you think? Is there enough honesty in this world?

Ive seen such letters sent on mail by some persons who ask us to send a dollar to the first person and then your name appears on the fifth or some such thing. Tempting as it sounds, I have my doubt. People have been cheated on the net galore, so its better to be wise and keep the money to ourselves.

Oh but I was not talking about something like that. A letter with no strings attached, I suppose similarly to what you have said but not the same. I get the concept though, it is hard to trust people when you do not know the origins of which made the letter be mailed.

Sadly, no. Perhaps if it was just through a set of VERY CLOSE friends who all were going to do this as part of a test where you knew where each other lived. I think that just random mailings would prove to be fruitless. It's sad though because honesty is something I expect from everyone, and yet it is a rare thing.

I know that everyone has said so far the same as you, not with people you do not know. It's sad that what honesty and trust used to be is no more, but hopefully we can become a more trusting world. I appreciate the response.

This is a pretty good discussion baby and I am sure that a lot of people have different opinions when it comes to sending money through the mail,I am sure that some people think there is not enough honesty in the world to do it because they think someone would try to steal the money, and then I am sure there are people who would definitely do it just because they think it is a good idea or because they think it would bring the world closer together, and I can understand the opinions of both sides, and I personally think it would be a good idea, and I am not sure how much honesty is in the world, but money is not everything, and I think the ones who have God in their hearts would pass the letter on without even thinking about taking the money, and I think it would definitely help the world become closer and help everyone make friends,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

No. Sadly you can't trust just anybody these days. Most people would of course just steal it. Unless you would do it with people that you know and trust them. I know a few people that sent money over sea's to there relatives that needed help, and the money got "lost" and they never received it. We know learnt a lesson though, and send it through bank accounts. So we give in the money and the money would end up in there bank account.

It is very sad that money can not be sent in the manner I spoke without the possibility of it getting "lost" in the manner you spoke. You make a good point though, that when sending money like your example, it is best to do it through a bank account! I appreciate the response.
