all species are bound to become extinct... when will we be extinct?

it seems that no matter how complex and far evolved a certain species is, they eventually become extinct. paleontologists and biologists have long accepted that extinction is part of the circle of life. when will the human species be extinct? will we survive an ice age or not? perhaps on of our nearest stars will explode/ implode into a supernova and soon become a blackhole (a nearby star is nearing its death as i type - just 7000 light yrs away, "near" enough for a blackhole to destroy us)? i wonder how many centuries the human species will last. we are perhaps the most intelligent, but even we are not immune to forces of nature. ha ha i don't mean to sound too apcalyptic. i am just wondering about how long we will last here on earth.

Well according to the Mayas we will all be gone in 2012(lol). I think our extinction depends on alot of things happening. If we dont take care of this planet it will become unlivable and that I believe will be the begining of the end for us. I watch The Universe a series on the History Channell and there are so many things that could just whipe us out.

i also watch "apocalypse how" on discovery channel. i believe it's the same kind of show as "the universe." sure scares the bejesus out of me. so many things can happen! hehe. heard that thing about 2012. there's a movie about it, too. hehe. hope the mayans got it wrong hehe

I truly hope we become extinct soon. Before we destroy the planet and take all the other life with us. I suspect the black hole will get us. We can survive an ice age, we have the technology. We might kill everyone else around us, just to do it, but we would.

unfortunately, a lot of people don't seem to care about saving the earth or conservation. :( perhaps if we tried a little more to help the earth, who knows? maybe someday, a species we helped to save from extinction may help us survive a certain epidemic. i get what you mean... maybe we can survive an ice age. but man, that would really be a cold way to live! hehe.
