Some countries use left steering wheel and some use right one. I don't understand why there is not an unification. It is not convenient to adjust to each other's way. Which is better? The left or the right steering wheel?

The left is better for me. That is what I am used to driving. The right is used in other countries. I know that London is one of them. France could be too.

Hi youless! Here in our country, it is a left hand drive for us. That is why when I went to England before, I felt so confused on what side of the road I should look at when crossing the street for they have right hand vehicles. Once when I hailed a cab there in London, I opened the driver's door! haha..the cab driver look at me and said, "Do you want to drive?" haha..My mistake, I got confused! Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

In Canada, as in the USA, we drive on the right hand side of the road, so we have our steering wheel on the left. However, my Uncle owns a few British cars, with the steering wheel on the right. It's always fun to drive with him, and wave my hands out the window on the left. It makes people wonder, who don't realize where the DRIVER is. LOL

It seems that the left steering wheel is much more popular?

Hi youless, my countries as well as the adjacent countries around like Thailand and Singapore, all the vehicles which are available here are fit with right steering wheels. I felt really amazing when I visited your country few years back seeing that all the 4 wheels vehicles there were left steering wheel. As I was still not accustomed sitting in a different steering wheel van the first time, and always to feel like the van was going to knock against the vehicle coming from the front. I ask out of my curiosity later on and finally I come to know that my country is one of those which follows the British style that using cars with right steering wheels whereas the others follow the left steering wheel of American style Happy posting and take care.

hello youless i wouldn't know how to drive a vehicle that had a steering wheel that was on the right hand side of the vehicle like that. lol i would have a big crash! here in the United States, the steering wheels on the vehicles here are on the left hand side of the vehicle. lol except for the United States Postal Trucks that deliver our mail to us everyday, their steering wheels on the postal trucks are on the right hand side of the vehicle. lol simple to make their jobs easier as the mailboxes are on the right hand side of the streets here in front of everybody's houses. if i was to ever travel overseas anywhere that the vehicles had the steering wheels on the right hand side of the vehicle like that, then i would have to ride around in a taxi cab or something while that i would be visiting. lol what side is the steering wheels on where that you live? thanks for sharing. take care and have a beautiful day today!
