Suicide is Painless

So says the song. How on earth do they know? Has anyone come back and said "That was painless. I'd do that anytime". Surely it depends on the method that you do yourself in with. If you smeared yourself in honey and waited for the fire ants to eat you; I can't imagine that that wouldn't be painful! Would it?

Well i don't know how it could be painless, as i see no way of doing this without having even a split second of pain before going in the afterlife, but nevertheless, i can't understand why a person would want to do, or try this in the first place.

There's a million reasons why someone would think about it. Despair can be a terrible thing. But doing it painlessly seems to me to be quite difficult.

Geez, P1key ... have you ever been bitten by a fire ant? Horrendous! I can think of far better ways to go! (Just invite me into your potting shed ...)

I believe that carbon monoxide poisoning is painless. You just fall asleep and never wake up. People have done it in their garage with their car running and the doors closed. Why are you asking this silly quesion anyway. You are just bucking for a lashing aren't ya?

No, the lashing would be for pure pleasure, my love.

OMG, little man! What have you been listening to, or watching today? My son used to sing that song all the time, when he was into watching every episode of MASH ever made.

I have watched them all too Bo. For years my favourite comedy show. I was listening to the theme song on Youtube.

Theme song from MASH! For once I'm not even sure how to respond to this one Pike! lol. You certainly have a point here though. It's sort of up there with "It's just like riding a bicycle!" What if you never learnt how to ride one in the first place???

Precisement James. I guess that we will never know. Hope that we don't anyway.

My guess is that after the fire ants had been at you for a while, *most things* would be painless in comparison.

Indeed. Not my first choice of ways to go!

Hi p1key, Never mind the fire ants, what if a bear comes along and lick you all over, that wouldn't be so painful but might make you die of fright, but if Winnie the Poo comes along, that will be alright. Lol! Hugs. Tamara xxxx

I've had two family members succeed at it, but I can tell you that for every way that it can be done, it can be screwed up so that you end up just messed up.

I am very sorry to hear about your family members. It must take every ounce of your being to try to come to terms with that. Thank you for sharing.

I can think of many painful self inflicted ways to die. Even a gunshot can and does go wrong but I really don't think those who want to try out the "fun" care about a possible "Opps, I missed" Nor do I think they care about the pain they leave behind. Songs, music and stories that promote these things aren't written by someone who's done it. nor do I think they were close to some one who did it.
