Do you ever make Breakfast for Dinner?

I did this the other night! My daughter was getting out of dance class, and it was 6:30 already. I knew when we got home at around seven I would SOOO not feel like making anything complicated. She asked me in front of all of the parents at the school if I would make her pancakes for dinner, and all of the parents said "OOHHH! What a good idea!", so I indulged her. We had a really fun time eating pancakes and bacon for dinner! Have you ever done anything like that? Had a really strange craving for breakfast food? Do you like to eat eggs at night?

I like a full English breakfast, just not at breakfast time. So, I do have it later in the day on occasion.

The actual ingredients can vary, depending on personal preference, but include things like fried bread, fried, grilled or tinned tomatoes, fried eggs, bacon, fried mushrooms, sausages, black pudding and baked beans. A very healthy breakfast, and not the sort of thing I can face first thing in the morning.

I'm not sure what a full English breakfast entails, but feel free to share with us what is it! It sounds big! I read a lot of English books, and they do make it sound like they start the day off with a bang!

Every once in a while we like to have breakfast for dinner. It's kind of a "comfort meal" when you have an omelet with toast and bacon for dinner, don't you think? I love to make that when I don't really feel like making dinner, because it is so easy and everyone gets filled up on eggs, that's for sure.

I had breakfast for dinner to day. I made a Mexican Bowl, with Mexican sausage, cheese, eggs, crumbled bacon, and fried potatoes. Taco Bell and Jack N The Box can't touch this.

When I am alone, I often make a single dish to be served as many times as I eat. One dish from break fast to dinner, of course with different pickles.

That is an interesting way to cook, actually. You make food in the AM, then eat it all day, but switch up the pickle? I must say I learn something new here every day!

We've made breakfast stuff for supper tons of times. It can be something quick and easy to make but also it is just fun. The kids love eating eggs and bacon or pancakes and sausage for supper instead of breakfast. We usually plan to do it if we haven't done it for awhile.

Even though my family used to do it sometimes when I was a kid, I had honestly forgotten how fun it can be. Change is nice! The funny thing was that it was my seven year old was the one that had to remind me of that!

It's been a few days now since I posted this dicussion, and now breakfast is my daughter's favorite meal at dinnertime! I love to cook eggs, so it's not a big deal, and she is really picky anyway. Tonight she begged for pancakes, so that's what I made. I'm such a pushover!

hello ljbinkop i am not a breakfast person whatsoever, so when that i do eat breakfast food i do as a matter of fact like to eat breakfast at night time for dinner like that. and when i fix breakfast at home for dinner like that, i like to fix it all. i fry up some potatoes, make some gravy, bake up some biscuits, fry up some sausage or bacon and fix some eggs however that everybody in the family wants their eggs prepared. and the pancakes and bacon that you-all had for dinner last night sounds delicious right about now as well. wonder how many of the people at the dance class last night went home and also made pancakes for their dinners? lol i also like fried apples and grits for a side dish along with breakfast as well. i like grits with sugar and lots of butter in them. yum. take care and have a beautiful evening.

Hi Tn, now you have me wanting some biscuits and gravy! Not really on my low carb lifestyle this week, though, LOL! As a matter of fact, I was thinking the same thing about the other parents at the class when it happened. I think I will ask them the next time I see them, because they all got such a kick out of it and really talked me into it that night! It was just one of those wonderful moments you have from your children when they start to grow up and think for themselves. You really treasure these times! Thank you for your response and have a great night, too!

I have eaten breakfast foods for dinner before. Usually it is because I don't want to cook a whole meal; I just want something fast and substantial. I do make egg omelets frequently as a course for dinner sometimes. I add salsa and cheese. It is fast and good. I usually have a vegetable and a fruit. It is light and tasty.

Brinner is so yummy. I have done this before and in fact when my husband and I first got married I would go by his work schedule. If he worked from 11pm-7am he would sleep most of the day and then wake up for dinner so I would make breakfast. During lent I also eat breakfast foods often since we can't eat meat I rather eat eggs then tuna fish sandwiches all the time. You can do so many things with eggs so I don't get bored with them so easily as I do with tuna fish.

Sure why not? I even remember my parents doing that before when I was a kid. We always thought that was so much fun, and my dad seemed to love to cook pancakes, and he would actually help my mom cook them. I loved that. We have done it a few times here, mostly when my husband is out of town for some reason. He is not big in to breakfast food, but it is something fun the kids and I do when he is away. I also really enjoy having an omelet for lunch at times.

When I was growing up we had breakfast for dinner ALL the time. Be it eggs, pancakes, even cereal. Just depended on what was going on. Now as an adult I still have breakfast for dinner just not as often.

We do have pancakes for dinner now and then. It's good because it is different , and because sometimes you forget to take something out for dinner . Pancakes you can make up easy , it don't take much time or effort , and everyone likes them.

As for me, it is ok to have breakfast for dinner. If only I am not feeling hungry I feel good. But, for my family, I will prepare a regular meal for dinner.

Actually, there is a weight loss diet that dinner is breakfast and breakfast is dinner. It really does work. But I do like having cereal in the evening or even pancakes. It can be quite c0omforting and satisfying.

Periodically we do have a breakfast dinner night. The kids love it. Usually we go all out too. We have a belgian waffle iron and the kids and husband love them!! I like breakfast anytime but since most breakfast foods are fried, I usually don't like to eat that before bed. But it is good every once in a while:)
