We all pay property taxes, the question is, do you know what you are paying for? As far as I know we pay property taxes so that the city can do maintenence in our neighborhood. So basically you're property tax goes toward your garbage collection, maintenece of your streets and sidewalks and public parking. I have to say though, that if that is the case, where is my money going? My streets were barely cleaned this winter and more than a few city trees have been knocked over and left where they are. It seems like there is little to no maintenence being done in our neighborhood. I was also told that although our part of the city pays the highest property taxes, our property worth is the lowest. Does this make any sense to you? Why do you think this is? Do you think the city does a good job of taking care of your area? What can I do, if anything?
