Child Was Raised Like an Animal!!

I'm so sick! This poor child! I just don't understand how a parent can treat their child this way. It's disturbing! Have you heard about the little girl who at the time was only 6 years old & was treated like a caged animal? She was kept in a small room all her life with no outside contact. She didn't know how to cry & didn't resond to pain. It's like she wasn't there. They have diagnosed this child, now 10, with "Environmental Autism"... What's that mean? I know what Autism is & I know enough about Autism... but I never heard of "Envirnmental Autism"... They say the girl couldn't speak or chew food, didn't understand peek-a-boo, didn't know how to nod yes or no. She never cried and didn't react to hot, cold or pain & she walked sideways on her toes... Anyway, the child was adopted & is making small improvments... The birth mother would of got 20 years, but they made a deal with her & if she gave her rights up as a parent she wont have to do jail time, so that is what happened... I don't agree... the birth mother should rot in jail! What kind of scum are they letting get off with a slap on the hand? WHatever! Here is the link to the full story: http://news.aol.com/article/dani-raised-like-an-animal/367749?icid=200100397x1219009812x1201299855 Tell me what you think on this story... comment!

I just read the full story and let me tell you. It makes me utterly sick to think of a person, ESPECIALLY a child, being treated like that. I don't understand why the authorities did not take Danielle before. I can understand that maybe they didn't have enough evidence of abuse, but you would think that they would have AT LEAST continued an investigation with all of the reports they had. I am just thankful that the little girl now has a family that cares about her. She may never be whole, but at least she will have a good life.

They didn't take her because they had no evidence of her existence, wasn't it? I thought I read that even the neighbors didn't know of her until they saw her in the window one day.

Nobody knew the child was even living in that home. So sad... Can you imagine? My GOODNESS! Poor child has never had any contact with any other kids or anything! Locked away for all 6 years! Makes me sick...

Invironmental Autism is caused when a child has not had any training & no human contact, its caused by the way she was treated....Its caused by abuse..Regular Autism is something that children or people can have that is not caused by abuse they were born that way...

Thats kind of what I thought. Thank you for explaining that. I just never heard of Autism being diagnosed from abuse, but I guess in a case like this, you just never know. I do know that the mother says her child was always different & thinks the child had Autism from day one because she never potty trained... the mother claims she tried & did her best.... yeah... do you believe that? Not me... if this was her best imagine her worst parenting... My son was diagnosed with Autism... but my child laughs, plays & is a happy boy from the minute he wakes up.... I think maybe this girl lacked everything because she didn't even know how to cry... so, so upsetting...

This is the first time I am hearing about this case. That is just horrible! How can a parent allow his or her child to suffer like that. Was that mother insane? What the heck is wrong with people! She should have got the jail time and remove her parental rights. I can't believe the court plea bargained with her. Honestly.

I heard about this, but I didn't know the details. That is so horrible. I don't see how anybody could do that to their child. I think that the mother should definitely get jail time.

This Oprah show was one of the saddest I've ever seen, this poor child. There are full details of this Oprah show on the site EverythingOprah.com. I'm glad that little Danielle has loving parents now but her biological mother should be behind bars for what she has done.

hi oh my god why did it take the state so long to take this little girl from this monster of a scum.it makes me so mad when i hear of a child being hurt and mistreated. i think jail is too good for these people they should be tortured every day like they have done to the child .i know that two wrongs don't make a right butttt.to let this woman go without giving her any punishment for what she has taken from this child is so insane.

i'd say let the mother experience the very same solitary confinement and see how she likes it! however, what are the grandparents of the child doing? what about the neighbors or friends of the mother? shame to all of them. forget the father of the child. probably better off not breathing.

Not sure if there was any other family involved or in the picture... I do know the mother was pretty old herself. I saw a small clip of her speaking about er daughter trying to make excuses.... whatever.... shame on her!

That is so horrible. She should rot in jail. She should have had to stay there as long as it took for that child to overcome that.

What all I can say is maybe the mom is a nutcase herself. She definitely has to have some psycho problems herself for not wanting her child to mix with anybody else. A very sad beginning to the child’s life no doubt, here’s only hoping she gets better with time

Honestly in my opinion I think the girl's biological parents should be locked up in jail or in a cage and give them a taste of their own medicine! That's insaine! I have a child and I would never even dream of doing this to him! I'm outraged and I'll just put it to you this way.... if I ever came across those people that did this to that girl I would definitly have to give them a piece of my mind and just ask them why?

That is just so sad. I sat here reading that and the tears started flowing. Thank God that she has survived and now has a loving family!! That poor little girl is going to live the rest of her life with the scars that she has. I cannot believe that the biological mother, if you can even call her that, got such a light sentence. That makes me sick!! If she had done that to a dog, she would be serving life in prison. What is wrong with that picture?? Let's just thank God that the little girl was saved and now is able to have a family that really does love her.

I am very mad with the way the child was treated. She does not deserve such treatment and she should just been killed instead of making her life miserable. Those parents should have been put to jail. I always believe that every people deserve to live and have freedom. They deserve education and proper shelter, food and love. They should not be treated like animals and should be given what they deserve in life. I wish there will be no more cases like that again.

i think the mother doesn't have the ability to raise her child, yeah, the kid is suffering autism, but she should try to work it out with her patience and all effort. so put her in jail is not totally irrational.

I did hear about this child and whatb happened to her. I think it is a horrible situation for that child or any child. I know that there are plenty of other people out there that want a children or children and can't have any so in my opinion for someone to do like that and to treat a child horribly should be out of the question. The mother should have been punished for treating her daughter like that. especially when the neighbors never saw her before the day they called the police, but they did see a little boy if I remember correctly. I do agree that the mother should rot in jail.

Jail time? At the very least. This poor child. She will forever wear the scars of the delay in care and love. I will never be able to wrap my mind around people who can treat their kids this way. Never.
