I just bought a LCD which is wide screen LCD. It looks nice but the wide screen design makes me feel weird and uncomfortable. Maybe I haven't get used to it. The wide screen design makes the stuff showing on the screen larger and wider. I need time to get use to it.
Do you prefer wide screen LCD or normal ones?

Heya, are you referring to a tv or computer..? Anyway, I really dont mind in whatever size the LCD is. I would just adjust to it depending upon the distance of where the screen is and where Im sitting or typing. Wide screen or not I really actually dont take notice, as long as I get to view whatever it is Im looking at properly, then Im good with that.

I have two PCs at home, and both my PCs have wide screen LCD displays. One is 19 inches and the other is 22 inches. I like the bigger LCDs because everything on the screen is larger, so when I watch videos, see images or call up some graphics I've designed, I see them larger with more detail. Nowadays, wide screen LCD displays for PCs are the norm, and with more HD material available and people viewing movies on PC screens, displays are getting larger also and subscribing to the HD kind of format and dimensions. I think the format is a matter of getting used once the resolutions are set appropriately. The normal displays won't last much more in the market and will all be phased out soon enough.

Yes, it is big and very nice to use. The irony is that I bought the 19 inch one about 8 months ago when my old monitor spoiled, but this 22 inch one is even cheaper than the 19 inch one, and both are of the same brand. Reason for this anomaly in prices is that the price of IT keeps dropping over time.

I think it would be okay if I had a wide screen LCD, even if things get to look too big but, actually they don't.
The display, let's say a movie, would still be the same as long as you don't make it consume the whole screen and in fact, even if it does, it would still be appropriate. I have seen a wide screen LCD used for playing games and the game actually is just being displayed on the middle of the screen and excess would be complimented with colors that go along the menu or the rest of the background.
You would get use to it later ona and, perhaps if you go back to normal sized screens, you would get an odd feeling of unfamiliarity, like me when I have used a mouse with a scroller for a long time and then suddenly going to a computer shop wherein you can rent PCs but, the mouse that I was able to use didn't have a scroll feature. I kept on moving my finger on the mouse as if I was scrolling even though there weren't anything to scroll (^_^")

I have a normal size screen but I have seen so many cool looking wide-screen LCDs in the shops lately which really make me wish I had one!
At the moment though I can't afford one. I have never actually used a widescreen LCD before but I think they would be nicer to use, after all - you would have a lot more space on your screen!

I prefer the normal right now. So many things aren't set up yet to view in wide screen so that makes a difference to me. But I like the wide screen for certain things. Not enough to make me buy it over the normal one though. I see what you are saying!

I find it more comfortable using the normal sized monitor, whether LCD or CRT, it doesn't matter. We have both types of monitors here in our office but I prefer the one I am using right now, CRT 17" monitor. Every time I use the wide screen monitors, I seem to get lost sometimes. I have to move my head sometimes, not only my eyes, to see everything, or to look for what I wanted to see.

i have one lcd monitor. i don't it that much yes cause it is in my other computer which is in the room. i am using the computer outside the room which is using crt monitor. i may try to exchange the two cause i use this computer outside the room.
but the lcd monitor i have is quite regular or small size only. i wanted to have a bigger one with better screen resolution and with more color so that i can appreciate my viewing of the websites more. cause i think my lcd is quite boring. though i don't know if there are some lcd that have great or better screen picture.

Anything too large and too close is hazy at best therefore you rightly said that it is weird and uncomfortable.

I
I would definately recommend a lcd monitor as it provides a much better resolution than a normal widescreen. Moreover widescreen tends to elongate objects on display. This can be troublesome and can be great for watching movies.

I prefer normal screen computers. But i like wide screen also.I have a wide screen lcd monitor at my uncles place. The screen is very good for me for playing online games. Also because the screen is wide.It is easy to see pictures very clearly.I am also going to upgrade to an LCD monitor.
