Are you behind on something?

I'm behind, so behind... My hubby is getting perturbed that I haven't finished boxing up the old utility bills and check stubs. You know, from 2008. Little does he know, 2007 is mixed in with them too!! He'd really be bent if he found that out!! What are you behind on? Are you just a little behind, or a lot behind like me? Is there a cure? (Besides shooting me!)

Besides on my every day bills no Im not behind I just had a question for you. What is the point of keeping all your utility bills and boxing them up? Do you ever need them again? just curious

It's a way to look back and find out just how much we spent by averaging. We found out our electric bill was wavering up really high every 3 months. Since we didn't have anything extra those months, we checked with the company to try to figure it out. After some checking, they found the problem and we didn't have those spikes anymore. Another time, we were overcharged on the phone bill. It seems they'd found a 'missing' payment. They said we hadn't paid for a certain month, 6 months back. That was suspicious right there. What company lets you go for 6 months without paying for one month? We looked it up, found the date it was paid (we write it on the leftover part), and got the voided check. After copying it and sending it to the company, we found out one of their people had cashed the check for themselves. I also hear if you get audited, they want a paper trail to see what you've spent money on. I just like being prepared.

ROFLMAO! *Annie puts on crown and takes bow* Well they are only refunds, we don't owe, so they are not chasing us for it. But if we owed them it would be a whole different story. I just made some brownies, want some? *munch munch*

Wow!! So, I guess I have to relinquish the throne of Queen of Procrastination? Rats! (Bowing down, while planning a coup...)

Where do I start?? I am the king of procrastination. I'm continually making out "to do" lists and then not doing half of the things on the list (usually the less attractive jobs) I just move them all onto another list, some jobs just spent there entire lives being moved from one list to another until they die of old age. Tomorrow I'll attack all those unfinished and not even started jobs, (tomorrow never comes of course) Some jobs I never dodge though, like feeding myself and the cats. Second in importance is doing the washing up (but only when I've run out of clean plates, cat dishes and cutlery - I'm at that stage now). Third in importance is doing laundry - but only when I've run out of clean clothes and worn the "not very dirty" items another couple of times. Fourth is vacuuming - but only when I can't distinguish the pattern on the carpet any more, or when my sister comes to visit. She's not fooled of of course, she knows I'm a slob

Dude!! Maybe you were stolen from my mother when you were born... I admit, I do keep up on plates now. When I first moved out, I let my plates sit too long and they had mold growing on them. That made me sick, so I stay on top of those. (After stomping on them awhile, one has to buy new so they can get tossed.) But it makes one feel so good, making out those lists. It should count, just writing them out, over and over, don't you think? Why vacuum? It's only going to get dirty in a few minutes, so why waste the time?
6 Mar 09
Ah! a soul-mate! I'm with you on the vacuuming! The cats don't help of course, last week you could clearly see the route that they took from the back door across the kitchen by the heavy trail of muddy paw prints wending it's way across the floor tiles. I gave in though, I went out and bought a new mop (thereby striking off a long term "to do" list resident) and then obliterated the trail. They are now working hard on establishing a new one.

Well one thing I'm definitely WAY behind in, is trying to catch up and make responses/replies back to everyone in my discussions I've started...I usually try to "restrain" myself from making new discussions until I reply to people who have responded..but lately I've had a bunch of ideas....soooo...Also a little behind in doing my laundry...just did some today but need to do more--laundry is definitely not one of my fun chores to do

Why put them away? you'll only have to take them all out again...

Send some of those ideas this way!! Just kidding. Laundry I don't have as much trouble with as I would have thought. Stick some clothes in, and MyLot while they're washing. When they're done, dry 'em, and stick another load in. Now putting them away, that could take awhile... I have 3 hampers I can fill before it becomes imperative I start putting away. heh, heh.

I'm behind on all the paper clutter in my house. I just got everything together to drop off at the accountant for our taxes today. I usually wait until April so I'm ahead of the game today... Just take it in small bites of time and you'll get it done! Good luck!

Paper is the worst. It doesn't help that I have to much. I do stay ahead on things that take money. As soon as we get the W-2's, they all go to the accountant. But if it's not important, they can darn well wait till I feel like doing them. (which is the 12th of never, best time yes? lol)

I'm always getting behind... I start doing a thing and then get distracted by something else which I feel is equally important. I don't usually get too far behind to catch up pretty quickly though, so no real harm done. Brightest Blessings.

Yes, I am behind, in between that is. I have a phone, cabel, electric bill. I still owe on my desktop computer. I have a Student Loan that is in default. I have other bills that are on my credit that needs to be paid. It is hard to pay bills off, especially when you don't have any money coming in. That is why, I don't like making bills without having any money.

How ironic that I would find this discussion today! As a matter of fact I have spent all day yesterday an part of the day today cleaning out our file cabinet and getting all that stuff in order. Yeah Me! Now to say I am now behind on nothing would be a lie so we'll just leave it there. At least I'm caught up ont he noticeable things

See, I did a good thing!! My discussion (even though you hadn't read it yet) gave you a sense of impending doom, so you got things done. Now you owe me! Ha, ha, ha!!! (You're buying this, right?)

We have a woodstove, so I don't have to worry about shredding. It's all so convenient during the winter as starter material. I don't think a burglar is going diving in there!! The way I look at not tidying up, is I'm protecting myself. Any burglar coming in here is probably going to kill himself tripping over things. Or go batty trying to find the hidden papers buried under the stories, to do lists(which just keep piling up), letters being written, and all that. He's taking his life in his own hands entering here!)

I'm an admitted procrastinator. So, why put off until tomorrow, that which can wait until the day after.... Seriously, I think the worst thing that i have been putting off is unpacking 3 containers from my move 5 months ago. The stuff that's in there is nothing that I need on a day-to-day basis, and so it has been boxed up since I got here. It's starting to bug even me, so I guess I am getting close to actually diving in.

Or put off till next month. Or even next year... I relate. One way to look at those boxes. Just in case you might move again, in the next few years, they're already packed and all you gotta do is lug them along. Or you can use them for coffee tables, just put some cloth over them to hide their secret identity. Good ideas?

Oh, I plan everything in advance. It all looks so pretty written down I don't feel any inclination to do it. Isn't it enough just to write down that I have to do it? lol

Maybe that's part of my problem too. Even though I know there's enough work here to keep me busy for a few months!! Sigh. Procrastination isn't what it used to be.
