I am a size twelve to fourteen ,but I stand in the changing room and everything is either to tight or falls of me,the sizes differ so much from shop to shop.A size twelve used to mean that.Other people could go in the shop and buy something for me and I for them ,but know I would not risk it.Is it just me?

Oh, its not just you, girlie...that happens to me too. I'm a 16/18 size gal, and I can try something on in one store and its tight and go to another store and find something that fits good. Yeah, I think sizes differ in different stores, sometimes it used to make me think I gained weight, I know I've always worn that size..lol. Thats one reason I don't like shopping, I can't ever find anything that fits right.

i don't know if you're still single or a mother already. but i hope these would help:
a) try also to research the market of the brand. some brands, even if their size says xl, is only a perfect fit for a petite woman in her thirties. that is so because the brand is xl for teens.
b)try looking at maternity clothes for actually they are regular clothes with flexible cuts and great fabrics. they're not mumu type of maternity clothes anymore. maternity pants (in their smaller size) is what i use now eventhough my son is 3 years old already for my stomach isn't that tight anymore. i'm 5 feet and 102 lbs.

they need to make a size mean that it is that size. When I go buy jeans I should not have to figure out if that brand makes their jeans big or small. I am sick and tired of feeling frustrated in the dressing room because even though they are the size I wear it does not mean they are going to fit.

no, it's not just you. u can't pay any attention to what the tags say anymore. u can buy two of the same thing, same size etc, one u can wear & one u can't.

Nope. I think we all have that problem. That's why I have to try on every pants or shirt, even if I have 3 of the exact same brand, size, and length. Because most of the time, one of them won't fit right. or maybe two of them. It's a royal pain having to try on everything.
Especially bras!!

I agree, it just depends on where I shop. I shop in Victoria's secret, I'm a size 4. I think in most shops I'm still a 4, in other I'm a 2 though. When you know which shops are a size 12 for you, then take a mental note of it. And the ones are 14, then make a note of that too.

Yes, the sizes are never the same according to stores! I never buy people clothes because the size cannot determine how well it will really fit and look on you. There are places that run smaller and bigger even inside the store... depending on the clothes! The small shirt is not the same as the other small in the same store.

I know how you feel! Its frustrating being one size in one store and a completely different size in another store! Why can't womens clothes be simple likes mens clothes? And have measurements instead of sizes! Everything just has to be more difficult. Luckily for me, I've found a store that carries a size that fits me really well and doesn't vary too much.
