hi friends.a few days ago,i came across this interview where some of the greats felt that if sachin was born in some other country like west indies,he would have scored e than 25000 runs in ODI and 30000+ runs in test matches. though i dont exactly agree with them ,i have to admit that sachin had been carrying the burden for about 20 years now .the amount of expectation from people is too much from india.if he was born in windies, who knows,hw might have scored 500 runs in a match. lets say the indian cricket fans are fanatic about this sports and being looked at the run scoring machine for almost 2 decades and trying to live up to their expectation is a bit too much for any cricketer. wat do u think?

Who knows! Sachin would have scored even less with some other country! In fact one gets the best crowd backing and god like treatment only here in India. That encourages players like him to do better! What if he was born in Uganda or Fiji or Gautamala or Uzbeikistan? His talent wouldn't have come out at all. Lets be happy for him that he is in India! In a way, the country should not matter. If he has the talent, which he surely does have, he can shine anywhere given some opportunity to showcase his talent.

i do not think he would have scored less...if he was from a country who played for the icc associate members then he would have probably made more runs because the bowling quality would have been even poorer

In India we don't see him as a cricketer. but as a hero, as a GOD. If he had born in some other country, his talent might not be recognised. He might not have been a cricketer. I'm happy for that he had born in india and Got fame to his country.

no matter what country he would have been born in his talent would have easily been recognized and would still have been the best cricketer in that country

no he would not have scored 25000 runs in one format of the game...individually he would not have done lot more than that he has achieved now..but yes say if he had been in a team like new zealand or south africa he would have won at least one world cup till now.. and certainly he would have won more matches than india has

Sachin is gift to our Indian cricket team..i agree that there is more pressure on him to score more runs..but all this pressure made him to broke all the records made by the great players and now he became great player..If he played for some other country there will be no burden but his achievements will be definitely less than he achieved in INDIA..

if sachin would have born in some other countries, then i must say u that he wont be much popular as he is right now....if u see the condition of australia.everybody is a performer..was performer n will be performer...it will be same for south africa...because these countries always see the performance of the player..if performance is not not good..then anyone cannot be stable in a team..so it would have been bad..we saw his performance in the past also..sometime he had also not performer well..so he might be out in any team..if u will take the example of srilanka, pakistan then he should have been famous..but what he had gain from india..he cannot gain from anywhere...if he would have been born in the minnows like kenya, holland, bangladesh..team is not sttled till now...so i think he is the best in india and we people love hm.....india is also a country of gr8 player..so he has boosted the rank of those veterans...n whole country respect him..

I disagree! In other countries say like australia, sachin would have been dropped for a lean run whereas India has persisted with him(which is the right thing to do)! Look at how they've treated steve waugh, matthew hayden! Its a combination of talent, skill, genius, and the support of the people that has made sachin the giant that he is! That might not have happened in some other country!

Nope. Not at all its too difficult to score that much and he will have to play till he's 40-50 and then too he might not reach there. The expectations from the people are not giving him burden but it is this expectations that make him give his best!!
