Have you ever wondered why people add people as friends and never talk to them?

I belong to a few social and dating sites like myspace, tagged, and others. And I always see someone post the question of why people add people as friends and never talk to them. Well here is my take on the subject. I believe that there are three types of people on the Internet. The first type are people who use the Internet to be social, explorer new ideas and meet new and interesting people. The second type of person are the one who spend as much time on the Internet as the social person but these people spend their time and energy on the Internet going around to social/dating sites adding people to look popular. They will never talk to you no matter what. The third type of person are the ones who are afraid of comment and will collect friends as well, but will pick out a couple of friends that they will talk with occasionally. What's your take on it?
