what you suggested is a great idea. who said a wedding present had to be for the house? i also think a piece of furniture or a nice blanket or something like that is cool, but i like what you have suggested because its way more personal.

what about a nice table or a chair. i know when we got married, an aunt and uncle of my hubbys bought us a nice rocking chair. its was great plus, every time we sat in it, we remembered them.

Um, are they living together, or going to be? Do you know if they will be throwing a house warming party? If not, a nice gift for their home would be good. Maybe a coffee machine, something they'd both benefit from... Uh, let's see other then a coffee machine, they might also both benefit from a toaster, or if not that then something else, a rug, or some kind of decor. I'm sorry, I don't know what to say as I am not sure what a proper gift would be in your country. I hope that someone else can give you better ideas. Have a great and fun day, at your friends wedding as well as here on mylot. Good luck!

I'm not a very good gift giver, but I would suggest towels or something that says husband and wife on them. I think that would be cute, but you are a guy so your probably not into what is cute. I'm just assuming of course

Hi Sunil...I like the idea of his and hers watches..Could you get them engraved with their names too? Where I live, there is usually some time between the ceremony and the dinner afterwards. A friend of mine, took a picture of the ceremony, and while waiting, ran to a 1 hour photo place and had the picture developed and put in a frame..It was a real shock later that night when they opened their gift to find a picture of a wedding that wasnt even over yet! I guess it depends on what they have and what they need to start their life together. Although, I do like your idea of personal gifts. I dont know what is available where you live either...His and hers towels and pillowcases with their names?

Hi sandymay, yes i'm just thinking about the watches as i have so many other gift ideas now in my mind.i am not sure whether they can engrave the names on the watches or not but i think its again a good idea to do so.well, i really want to gift something really nice more than the photos for them to keep as long as they are together.towels and pillow cases with names is also another good idea to think but not sure about the time factor. hes marrying on friday and the reception is on the same evening here.thanks for the response.

Well it is hard to think of a gift for people you don't know, but I like giving people unusual things like windchimes, or a tree for the garden. Perhaps as somebody else said a gift card along with another present to show that you put some thought into it. Or have you got a good photo of them together that you could get framed?

married - pair of newly-weds just celebrate the weddingg.
I find the idea of sunglasses very original. I think for the budget you have available you will find a pair of glasses really pretty. But I hope that you know more or less the tastes of the bridg and groom.

I got my best friend things for her house, like I found glasses that she would have loved and she did because they were unique and she uses them daily. In fact I used one last time I was there. I like the idea of matching watches or glasses for them.
