HELP- If you live on the EAST COAST of USA between South Carolina and New York

I'll be driving from SC to NY in late April and I'm looking for some tourist sites or places of interest to visit. I'll be driving through North Carolina, Virginia,
West Virginia, Pennsylvania and on to Oswego,New York. Since I'm 62 yoa I'd be more interested in sites someone my age would enjoy. I'd appreciate any information you can give me.

You'll be driving up I-95, which turns into the Capitol Beltway when you get into Maryland, so why not plot a route into D.C. and see some of the sights there? If you really want to see D.C., take the exit for the New Carrollton Metro Station, park your car and take the subway into the city. It will take you right to the heart of everything...the Smithsonian...the monuments. You can wander around for awhile, take the metro back to your car and be on your way. D.C. is lovely in the Spring and the weather is great.
