Right now I'm using Viewsonic VA1926w and quite happy with the product. It's got a 19" TFT display with clear and sharp picture and it doesn't have any dead pixel when I got it. Right now my brother want to buy a new monitor for his PC and I'm already suggest him to use Viewsonic brand, but I'd like to know what monitor brand you use right now and are you satisfied with it. So I can share the info to my brother.

Oh, I'm glad your LG is working again San :) Running for 5 years is good you know, my old Samsung 15" (it's not LCD, I forgot the series) only run for 2 years. I have to fix it for $ 20 to get the thing work again. But I'm happy with my Viewsonic right now, hope it last for a long time.

Oh the series. Yes I can see it and it is "Studioworks 700E" model from LG. $20 is a big amount and I can remember when I was out of my home town my room partner's monitor got burnt out and it also took something around $20 bux to get it repaired. Only one of my friends is using LCD one right now. I am planing to have one lcd but for that I need to make atleast $200 in my paypal account :-(

i'm using BENQ E2200HD which is 22",good,clear and perfect for my ps3 and computer.this monitor have a 16:9 and full hd resolution 1080p and HDMI output which is suitable for ps3 or blueray player.so the view is really crystal clear when i play my ps3 games and watch drama with my computer.Viewsonic is a good brand too and much cheaper than others brand if i'm not mistaken.but it is your brother decision to buy which one suitable for him.

hi, currently, it's 26 inch Samsung SyncMaster (2693HM), this was a good deal when I bought it (a little over USD 300), it's got a 1920x1240 resolution so there's plenty of room. I haven't used the ViewSonics, but I looked at their specs, they look pretty good. I've used 3 samsungs already (LCDs, from 17" to 19" then now my 26"), I've also used an AOC 19" inch. I've no major complaints on the Samsungs (I bought 3 of them, but primarily because of the price point), the only thing I will complain about Samsung is the color quality, I don't think that this monitor accurately displays color tones -- but I'm not an expert on color tones, I basically use it for programming/coding, so the color tones aren't that important to me; if your brother will use for for DTP purposes, you might need to dig around a bit more. Overall, I like the performance-pricepoint of the Samsungs. thanks

Wow your monitor must be a very durable product cause it still works fine for 6 years. LCD is good but it's rather steep and need an extra precaution to clean it's screen.
