Gather members please help

I have just joined gather as I am joining as many writing sites as possible in order to see which pays the most.
What I want to know is how do you earn points on gather? Just by writing articles or are there other ways? Additionally is it easy to accumulate points and how many points do you need for a paypal cashout?
I havent written anything for gather yet and would like someone with some knowhow to tell me a little more about the site.

Hi Heartbreaker08,
I just joined Gather yesterday so I'm pretty new with it, but I've heard a lot of great things. I know little right now, but from what I have picked up join groups and respond to posts and make your own posts as well as sharing pictures gives you points.
When it comes to the cashout option, there's a certain amount of points you need to accumulate to get the paypal cashout option.

Thanks for your response. On closer examination of the TOS I see only US members can cash out using their gather points. Unfortunately I am from the UK and this option is not available for me yet. I will keep a close eye on the site and perhaps email the admin to ask if they are planning to open the cash out for Uk mebmbers and international members anytime soon. It does however say points accumulated by non US members will be held so I could start using the site now and save my points.

I'm sorry that Gather doesn't let you earn cash...they do have Gather gear...can you order that (clothing, bags, hats, etc)? I love Gather and they do have quite a few Canadians and even some other folks scattered around the globe as well, but it's a lot less rewarding if you don't get paid.
Yes, you get points for reading, commenting, writing, starting groups, joining groups, making friends...but to maximize points, rumor has it that posting and viewing videos and photos is the way to go.
Hope you stick around Gather. I love the site, and it's got a lot of writers on there as well.
