If you have accidentally deleted a file in Windows, what would you do?

The recycle bin in Windows have safeguards against accidental deletion, however, some people may have turned off this safeguard when they went to Recycle Bin properties and selected "Do not move files to the recycle bin. Remove files immediately when deleted". What can you do when this happens.

If u r talking about Windows file...then u don't need any tool...what u need to do is to boot XP from cd...then enter into recovery console by pressing 'R'...there select the Windows u want to recover by pressing 1,2 or 3(depending upon no. of Windows installed on ur system)...then it will ask for administrator password(if u haven't given any password, then just press enter key)...now type:- chkdsk /r after completion ur deleted file will be recovered...[;)] OR try system restore instead of using this procedure...[:P]

Maybe you could be able to log to safe mode and use system restore to restore to an earlier date. Or else if you clearly know what the file deleted is, then i think it is possible to copy only that file by inserting the windows cd and boot via cd and go to recovery console to copy the file. Or else you will have to install a clean copy of windows again.

Hi elmolovesu! haha..Whenever I accidentally do that or anything that will make me feel nervous because i did something stupid on the computer--I usually call my husband! haha..Don't know anything about it..no idea on what to do..haha..I guess, I depended so much on my husband always fixing things up for me. Not funny now that I am thinking about it. i guess, I have to start listening to my husband's persistence in teaching some basic computer "fixing" skills. LOL Take care and blessings to you! lovelots..faith

i have this program that allows me to retrieve back even those that i empty from my recycle bin. though video files tend to get corrupted in this process. BUT for the rest of my files, so far it's pretty alright. But i do double check before i delete anything.

As others have said, try windows restore, it can restore your deleted files. there are many recovery tools available, which can be bought, i havent seen any free one yet. these toold can recover almost all deleted files.

Hi,guy! When you accidentally delete a file which can not be recovered from the recycle bin, you may use a specific tool(I highly recommend "recover4all"which can be downloaded freely fromthe Internet)to recover it. It has two modes of recovery. First you may apply the "quick scan" mode to scan the disk for the deleted file. Then recover it to another hard drive. The other applications such as "finaldata","easyrecovery","recover my files" are all good choices. Try it and have good luck!

If the size of files is less(5MB)...there r many chances for recovery...still u can recover big files...u need a recovery tool to do so...u can try recover my files...I had recovered many files after they get deleted from recycle bin...this tool can recover all files very easily that are emptied from recycle bin...have a try...[;)]
