Hi dear my lotters I have gone through a article about health the benefits of fruits and vegetables please read and give your suggestion. Blueberries are known for their very high antioxidant content and anti-aging properties. In recent experiments with aged laboratory animals, concord grape juice also improved short-term memory and neuromotor skills. Concord grape juice, a refreshing source of concentrated antioxidants, may also help retard mental and physical declines of aging. In an analysis of the antioxidant capacity of vegetables, fruits, and vegetable oils, it was found that spinach, peppers, asparagus and turnip tops had the highest antioxidant capacity among the vegetables; blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and olives ranked highest among the fruits; while soy oil and extra virgin olive oil had the highest antioxidant capacity among the oils tested. Risk of breast cancer among postmenopausal Japanese women was reduced about 40 percent for an increased intake of fruit. Cranberries, which are native to North America, are very popular during the year-end holiday season. Their high fiber content is useful in forming gels for traditional sauces. Cranberries are very high in antioxidants such as proanthocyanidins, which provide protection against cancer and heart disease. These compounds are also useful for fighting urinary tract infections. Middle-aged Finnish men with the highest consumption of fruits, berries and vegetables experienced a 41 percent reduction in cardiovascular disease-related death and a 34 percent reduction in death from all causes, compared to men with the lowest intake. Fruits and vegetables are known to protect against chronic disease because of their rich content of many phytochemicals, including the antioxidants. Cranberry was found to possess the highest antioxidant activity, followed by apple, red grape, strawberry, peach, lemon, pear, banana, orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. Iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and French fried potatoes are the most commonly consumed vegetables in the U.S. However, only 3% of those surveyed consumed broccoli during the reporting period while consumption of dark, green vegetables averaged only one serving every 5 days. Health authorities recommend that one citrus fruit and one cruciferous vegetable be eaten daily. Less than 10 percent of Americans regularly consume these foods. Thank you for such a good discussion most of these things are true but next week they will come up with something else to eat or avoid.In England we are supposed to eat five portions of fruit and veg a day or more is even better.About five years ago we were told to stop eating so many eggs as they would be bad for our cholesterol.After a life time of having eggs most morning for breakfast we all had two a week instead.Now they tell us eggs are good for us and will actually ward of heart disease.I don't listen to much these days drink plenty of water ,eat your veg and fruit,and exercise.My old gran lived till she was 90 she had more saturated fat then anyone,they were poor as kids and ate suet puddings ,dripping sandwiches, ect.The difference is we worry to much about it and it is the stress that kills us.Just be sensible and eat wisely with a few treats thrown in and everyone will be happier and stop worrying so much.Like I say I have lived through to many government and scientists discovery to take much notice anymore.

Hi Suzzy Hope you are been frustrated from many of these kind of exercises and policy about the food advices. Yes you are right I'll be accepting many of your points. Everyday some one diagnosing something and releasing some new note about health and nutrition there are many controversy statement too. Hope very much confusion also will leads to these kind of diversions as well. When we have a frequent study about health articles and research papers we will know very well which statement is correct and which one is not. But in this fast world there is no time for every one to spent time to take care about these things. When we have clear plan and execution one by one to follow the best way to keep our health well it will be usable and awareness about all these kind of advices and readings will make us more confident, when we ensure that level of confident and best recommendations hope we can follow them to achieve our goal as well. In many countries still people are dying without food which is minimum required to live. Well god has given good environment and country to live we have to say thanks to the god for that. thanks.
