and starting school is one of them. Most of us can remember our first day at school and the name of our first teacher. My teacher's name was Miss Clifton. She was tall, old, skinny with long bony fingers and stiff white hairs on her chin - I thought she was a witch. I was sent off to school one orange- leaved September Day with my eldest sister in charge of me. I was five years old and she told me to get a set at the front of the classroom because of the approaching winter. She also said that the te4acher's desk was close to the coal fire so I was to sit as close to the teacher as possible so as not to freeze in the winter. Can you remmber your first day at school and the name of your teacher?

Our headmistress made us do that ands yes, it did hurt. She took a sadistic delight in doing so too. I hated them all. My primary school days were a nightmare and High School was not much better.

My first grade teacher was Mrs. Eubanks. I also sat in the front of the class. I loved being close to the teacher's desk and the blackboard.

No, wasn't a teacher's pet. Oh, later in school, I got called that. But I did love to raise my hand and be called on for the answers. I loved school from day one! I should have been a teacher myself.

I used to teach but gave it up some 15 years ago. I was good too but once it stopped becoming fun then I knew that I would do my students no good at all and so I left the classroom. Many thanks for responding

Were you teacher's pet? I hated the teacher but hated the cold in a very serious way. I bet you were the one who put her hand up first and looked happy as she knew that she had the correct answer?

I remember my first day. It was K-4. I joined mid-semester, but I already knew how to read and write, so I fit in okay. My teacher was so-so. Her name was Mrs. Manning. She was an older woman, and I think maybe she had lost her patience over the years. She wasn't mean, she just didn't have a good demeanor to work with young children.

I removed myself from the classroom when it was no longer fun and I dreaded going to school. It was a disservice to myself and to my students. I worked so hard and became disillusioned and burnt out. sometimes, it is time to go!

I guess my kindergarten was forgettable. I do not remember her much or her name. I do not remember my first day of school either. I do remember that my teacher was pregnant and we had a sub for a few months.

My 1st teacher was Mrs. June Moss of South Pittsburg, Tennessee. She was a real sweetie, she taught for many many years and then was Principal of the Elementary School that I attended by the time my Children started. They also loved her, she retired last year. I will never forget her, she got to know every child that attended her school, she protected each and every one of them like they were her own.

One day is most rembrable is when I was sitting at my desk an the teacher was standing in front of the whole classroom ,and I remember me being in the front of the role and I really had to go pee. So I told my teacher an she said well you are just gonna have to hold it until all your friends go to okay? So me only being five and scared anyways I was not smart enough to just say no I can't hold it I need to go an that be it...... I just kept sitting there and finally going pee.... but not in the bathroom were I should have went no no sure did'nt I went pee right there sitting in my desk in the front of the role right infront of everyone!!! OMG the embarisment , I felt my face feel up with heat besides my pants and legs ,oh an shoes,floor.....ohhh then I remember that teacher walken up to me an sayen "sweetie what happened to you" ahhhhhhh duhhh I peed all over my self here lady cant you see your walken threw a big water puddel were there should'nt be one..So I started crying an had to get up infront of god and everybody to go out the classroom door to be able to go the office to get themto call my mom .....O 'Boy my mom can up there and went OOFFF on that teacher an my mom made her cry... she deserved it ....I told that lady I had to PEE! lol

My very first day I road in on the big yellow school bus and was paired up with an older student who would help me to get to class.... When I got there as I rounded the corner I saw a little girl standing by the wall approached her and we went and played in he sand box...She became my very best friend! I was 2 and a half year old when i started to go to school. Nope i dont remember the name or the face my teacher then. I remember my school though. Its name was Plateau Private in a city called Jos Nigeria. It was a small school on a small hill with lots of animals grazing around the class rooms which we had I guess built of mud and clay. I have very abstract memory of my first school but certainly I loved my school. I remember I fell down in the courtyard while I was chased by a goat and I was bruised, lol. I think my teacher was a big African woman with a bigger heart filled with love and care but truly I cannot remember her name.

Yes it is strange. I have a bad memory but I do remember my first school, Spring Garden School in DDO, Quebec, Canada. And my teacher's name was Ms Altar. She was super sweet. I didn't know how to speak a word of English, so she had this girl from grade six help me out. Ms Alter had blond curly/wavy hair. She was probably in her 30s or 40s at the time. I wonder where and how she's doing now...
