Do you burn stuff to disc from your television?

I've been burning stuff to disc from my television here lately, especially if I can't find a download for it online. With the costs of the DVDs and the lack of money, this seems to be the only way I can keep the shows that I want. All I do is burn them to disc, then I use Nero to burn them to my laptop. After this, all I have to do is convert it from MP4 to AVI file. I have to do it this way so that I can burn them permanently to disc.

I use Format Factory. It's very east to use, and it's free to download.

Was your Nero free? Does anyone know of any other software to use other than Nero for burning?

Alas! I don't know how to burn stuffs from my TV to my DVD. May be the TV I have doesn't have the facility. I need to have this facility as I am a game player and once I play good, I want tthe world to know how good I am! The only way of doing it is posting my game play on youtube! What TV do you use?
