Which is the Best AntiVirus According to you? What do you use now and what have you used before. Share any opinion about different antiviruses. -- I use Avira AntiVir and its the best for me.. Used Norton (makes system slow a lot), used AVG (Poor Detection of Virus) and avast (Not very reliable and the alarm sound on detecting virus is annoying)

nah not really as rarely get virus's if am honest, but the ones I have had were missed by avg and found by avast. Tho I am careful what I download and usually download software to a partition on my hard drive then virus scan it before its installed on my main hard drive.

no antivirus is 100% perfect. you can not rely on one but avira is no doubt a good choice. i am also using the same. kaspersky is another which is good. i am using 2 virus scanners on my PC. e-scan and avira.

By having a two antiviruses installed you are causing more damage to your PC than having a bad antivirus software. There is a great possibility that these two antiviruses are in conflict with some modules and they won't be able to find viruses. I strongly suggest to uninstall one of those two or to install Kaspersky (which you mentioned). Kaspersky is the number one antivirus at the moment (check the comparison tables on the web).

I used to think that Norton's was the absolute best, but after several viruses got past it, I switched to Kaspersky. I really like Kaspersky a lot. The only issue I have with Kaspersky is that sometimes it is incompatible with other things on your computer, like Adobe. Not sure why, but it slows things down a bit. I am willing to put up with that though, the level of protection is outstanding.

Well Vishnus I used Avast,AVG,Kaspersky,Mcafee, Norton, Live one Care and ESET. The worst of the lot were AVG, MCaffee, Live one care and to an extent Norton as it is quite slow. I liked Avast, Kaspersky and ESET. According to me Kaspersky and ESET are the best.

ESET is very good, I forgot to mentioned in my post. It is in top 3 position among Kaspersky (which is far better than any other) and BitDefender. I fully agree with you about Kaspersky (Internet Security) and ESET (Smart Security). Vishnus, you should try both to see which one fits you better (even their interface is very similar; not the same, but similar).

the best anti-virus for me is comodo internet security, it has everything you need to protect your computer, it is truely a wonderful piece of software, and best of all it is free to download and use indefinitly, not like those other pieces of software which you get trials but then have to pay for the whole thing at a later date.

As far as this day, I use Avira AntiVir. This program is good and works quickly. Before this program I use Kaspersky. I think Avira AntiVir is the best program.

There are lots of different antivirus products on the market but I have used one particular product for a while now and I'm extremely happy with it. I use AVG 8.0 the free version. My computer is fast and I scan my system for viruses once per month. Anyway, I don't think I will ever pay for an antivirus product when there are products on the market that are free. Is the Avira AntiVir free? I like the idea of networking with others to find out what works and what doesn't work. Andrew

Hello, I have actually tried almost all anti virus programs including Norton, Live One Care, AVG, Zone Alarm Internet Security, Norton, Avast, Kaspersky Internet Security. My brother had tried AVG but it didn't really detect many viruses that were on their. I installed on my own Computer Norton 2008. I actually quite liked it, because it had a really good computer Interface and is really easy to use for beginners. But it still wasn't the best for me. I then installed Windows Live OneCare after. I don't want to put down Microsoft, but OneCare was the poorest of them all. Norton at least removed minor Cookies that had a low risk, but OneCare couldn't even find those. And comparing to Norton, OneCare slowed down my computer DRAMATICALLY. So those people who complain about Norton, it is NOTHING comparing with Live OneCare. I then tried Kaspersky as a final resort, and am I glad that I did. It found about 9 viruses that OneCare and Norton couldn't find and countless of other spyware programs. Go for Kaspersky, it is the best in my opinion!

i am using "AntiVir" at present before i user AVG it failed to protect my system. I also used "McAfee" it makes my system slow it always ask me to update which consumes my bandwidht and takes more time update. Now i like "AntiVir" i am happy to use this it updates very easily and takes very less system resources.

Kaspersky Internet Security is the best security package you can find. It is fast and the most important thing, it finds every virus, trojan, worm, etc. It also doesn't use a lot of resources which makes it number one (IMHO). When comparing to other antiviruses it provides best security because it has the largest virus base of all the other antiviruses. BitDefender is very similar to Kaspersky (not as good as but it is still very good) but it is slower when checking your system, the positive thing for the BitDefender is that it also has a large virus database. Norton 360v2 is good, but slow choice. Since the 360v1 version it was improved in many ways; it is much faster than it was before and it needs less resources, but be aware that it is still resource hungry. The antiviruses I've mentioned aren't just antiviruses as they provide full security package (firewall, antivirus, antispam and many other features), but because of that they are good. Earlier I was using separate applications for firewall, antivirus, antispam and other things but now I don't need to anymore as the mentioned antiviruses contain all the features you need to be safe. Happy mylotting... P.S. There are other antiviruses but these are the best because I've tried them and I know what ther pros and contras are.

Hi vishnu according to me Kaspersky full version is the best antivirus available. it is quite fast and light weight antivirus. apart of it you can go for 1.nod 32 2. avast these two are also quite impressive.
