Do you love taking pictures, edit it, and make it artistic but yet you are not a professional photographer? I do. I could say I'm a frustrated photographer. I always love photography. I wish I'm a professional photographer, it's a cool job. How about you guys? Share me your stories. The photo I attached was taken by me. It was my boyfriend when we were at the beach.

Well, going into professional photography isn't the easiest thing, but it is manageable. Have you tried going to a studio and asking for a job? I'm an editer, but not a photographer, so I don't have much to tell. I do hate it when my work is put down. Not with constructive criticism. I don't mind criticism, even the negative kind. I just hate it when people just go "Ok, this sucks" and then walk away without a reason. So really, you could call me a frustrated photo manipulator.

I haven't tried going to the studio and ask for a job of that kind really. I don't have any formal training on photography so I could totally see myself being rejected. My job is way unrelated to photography but I'm pretty happy with my work right now. Yeah, I hate things like that, too, when people don't give constructive criticism 'cause it's not helping, it's just making your self-esteem low. Thanks for your response, tman!

Flats - took a picture of my shoes while not doing anything
Hi there! That's actually a nice picture. As for me, I like taking pictures using my camera phone. It only has 2 megapixels but I still manage to take good shots though. You don't have to be a professional photographer to get good shots. All you need is timing and practice too.

Thanks athinapie! Nice flats! I actually used my cellphone cam on that pic, too. I forgot to bring my digicam at that time, lol.

It's really great to have a camera phone these days, right? We could always capture things instantly

I agree. I used to use my cellphone to take photos, and 2 megapixels is a pretty high quality for a cellphone, if you ask me.

Hi dutchess Firstly, the photo that you have shot is pure professional and I just loved it! I think, you are a great photographer but since you are not professional you do not want to give due credit to your photographer self! I, like you, love photography and do tricks with the pictures. I have a software that works wonders in playing with the images and whenever I have time I do that. Another thing I want to share with you here, its a website: http://www.deviantart.com/ you will love this site, try and let me know.

Hey mimpi! You got exactly what my sentiments are! Thanks for the compliments, so appreciate it. I don't wanna claim that I'm so good at taking pictures since I don't do photography for a living. But, I so love taking pictures though and if I would be given the chance, I would love to have formal lessons on photography. Maybe, you could share some of your photos too, I'm feeling that you're great at it. Thanks for sharing the site. I'll check it out, I'm feeling I'll be loving that site

I am not great photographer, but I love taking digital photographs especially since we can share them on-line with our friends and anybody in the whole world who would like to look at them. So much better than what it used to be before the Internet. - Derek

Right, it's so fun that we could share photos to anyone around the world and discuss about it and stuff. Sometimes, it takes a little bit of practice and effort to take good shots so keep taking pictures

I would say that I have had some success as a photographer. I used to take portraits for a living and people constantly ask me to take their portraits because as they say, I make them look good. Cheers!!

I love photography! I really love black and whites. I have some up on my profile of my niece and my dogs that I took, I don't know if they are professional grade or not, but I do enjoy taking pictures. Have you ever looked into the online photo uploading sites that say they'll pay you for taking pictures of certain things and uploading them? Are they scams?

Hey corty! There's some legit sites there like iStockphoto.com and Shutterstock.com Here's a link for a list of some sites: http://www.microstockdiaries.com/which-microstock-websites-pay-the-most-per-photo.html I'm not actually a member yet of any of the sites so I couldn't give you any feedback or something. You might wanna check that out.

I like to take digital pictures and photoshop them - sometimes I will take several pictures and merge them into one - that is a blast to me. The photo you attached at the beach.... I missed that - let me hurry and submit my post!

I like working on Photoshop, too. It's a very nice photo-editing software which professional photographers use. I've CS3 and it works just fine. Thanks for your response, shakadoodoo!

I like taking pictures and I wished I was good at it, but I'm not. I seem to always cut somebody's head off when I take their picture, or I'll half of them in the picture..haha. I'm a frustrated photographer I have a brother in law that is a professional photographer, he used to have his own shop. I guess I should ask him for tips huh..The avatar I use is a picture that I took of a rainbow that was in the sky one evening, I thought it was cool.

Hey walijo, your avatar looks nice! Yeah, maybe you could get some tips from your brother-in-law. Just keep practicing and I'm sure your photos will come very beautiful. There are many free tutorial and lessons out there about photography. Good luck!

I am frustrated about taking pictures I just don't know enough. My Hubby is fantastic in fact I made family gifts out of his picture last Christmas. i put them on card stock after he had signed them. Gave them to all the grown Grandkids. I don't know how much they liked them but I would have given anything to have had something like that from my Grandpa

I'm sure they liked it 'cause it's special and personalized. I'd like it if I would have something like that Sometimes, it really takes effort, studying and practicing to be good at taking pictures but there are also ones that were like born to be a photographer, without any formal training at all, they really capture great images, maybe your hubby is one of them

heya... I know what you mean hahaha. I love taking pictures and trying out different angels and styles. But I don't have the right stuff to do real photography. When I was in HS, I was hoping I can study photography but when I was about to get to college my course change by the influence of my uncle. So I took the entrance examination where i applied a different course. hmpz! lol I can say i still love taking pics either on my phone or webcam or even my oldie film camera ... don't comment on that lol. I wanted to buy a digicam but right now I have to put my bro's education on my top priority list hahaha... so I have to use my totally oldie camera

No im not, I cant appreciate the beauty of my surrounding.
• Philippines

Really? Why is that? Photography is great

I'm wondering what kirsneil meant by that too. I appreciate the rare beauty of slums, buildings, vehicles, noise and smogs of Manila, lol . I mean, if you look it at a shutterbug's eye, that's a good subject for photography. We should hear what krisneil has to say Maybe, he really isn't in a good surrounding that's why he can't appreciate it.

I am vry fond of taking pics of nature and some unique/funny activities. But i am not frustrated as i m not a proffessional photographer, still I enjoy photographs as these are. My camera is intelligent enough to capture moments without much settings.

thats a great pic! I love photography, taking pictures, looking at pictures, eand editing pictures. I have two young kids, so I dont have a lot of time to do it, but its a lot of fun. Im not really frustrated yet about not being a professional though, because I havent put everything into it quite yet. I have a nice camera, and Ill keep practicing until the kids are a little older, then Ill work at being a professional.

Hey van_city10! Thanks a lot! Taking kid pictures are awesome, right? They don't have to make an effort or pose on the camera to make the shot look great 'cause whatever they do, they're naturally cute

I love taking pictures. I was once addicted in photography that I always have my camera with me. When I was in high school, I was the photographer of our school paper. I like taking pictures of moving objects. Something that will make an artistic angle. Sometimes, I go to a park and take pictures of birds. I wish I can do it again. I have no time to do it nowadays.

I am also a frustrated photographer. I love taking pictures of myself, my friends and family. I love taking stolen shots so that the natural beauty of the people involve in that pictures shows. I'm just using a digital camera and I'm hoping that I could buy a camera that professionals used so that the picture looks nicer and clear.

Well I had it much worst than you. I'm into photography as well, make that fashion photography. I've submitted my portfolios for magazines like FHM, Maxim, etc, but have yet to receive any positive replies other than the machine generated "Thank you for your interest blah blah blah". How I wish I could be one of those SI swimsuit photographers, I think it's the coolest job in the world . I still have my day job which I consider the 2nd coolest job in the world(coz it lets me pay my bills, and other stuffs ), but I'm not giving up just yet.

I am not an expert in photograph, but I enjoy taking phictures. I keep a large file of my photos of my travels. And I feel a sense of accomplishment, especially reviewing those hard copies, which recorded my career experience, and travel footprint. I take photos of my grandson, who is now six years old. These lovely photos will make good slides and vidows for family gettogethers. And in my city, there are so many changes every day. The are recorders of history.
