DANG!! Can't Access My Yahoo Mail! Anyone Else Having This Problem?

For the last 20 minutes I've gotten the following error message. I get it often once, and then I get in the second time, but rarely for THIS LONG. Anyone else having this problem? Here's the message. Sorry for the inconvenience. You've stumbled upon a temporary problem we're having with Yahoo! Mail. Usually this problem gets resolved quickly, without you doing a thing. * Try pressing the Reload or Refresh button on your browser, or signing out and back into Yahoo! Mail. Hopefully that will take care of things. If that doesn't fix the problem, please try again shortly. The fact that you're reading this page means we've been automatically notified of the issue, and chances are we're working on it now. * If you think you've been more than patient and tried the tricks above, feel free to contact Customer Care about Error Code 5. I just went to my yahoo email address and signed right in and checked my email with no problem. Hope yours is working for you by now.

I sure wish I could answer this for you but I do not use Yahoo mail. I never could get it to work right for me. I hope you get it figured out.

The only time I was ever unable to access my yahoo was when it had gone inactive because I hadn't gotten on in like 2-4 months. I would just do what they suggest and if that doesn't work then I would contact them like they say. Good luck to you.

I was having multiple problems with my Yahoo email all of last week. On Thursday I got a notification that the email site would be closed down for maintenance from Friday night until this morning. When I first tried this morning it was down and I have just started to be able to open my email. Last week when I was have so many problems (getting the same message as you did) so I switched from "Classic" to the new type "Beta" and I did not have any problems using it although I still prefer the Classic when it works.

no I didn't seem to have a problem on that day. But I don't use yahoo everyday.

I had this happen for a long while this afternoon. It was really a shame as this is the first time I have had a lot of time to be here, and I really wanted to get back into the swing of things. I hope that it is better for you now. I see this discussion was three days ago, so I guess I am telling you that this is an ongoing problem.

That is the reason why I switch to gmail for all mylot notifications. I always face this kind of problem with yahoo mail but gmail doesn't encounter this sort of things. Maybe they were the pioneer in emails and they are loaded with subscribers.

I'm checking my yahoo mail right now and I'm able to access it. Just give it a few minutes. If your still having problems I would contact Customer Care.

Yeah. I been getting that all day. Hope they hurry up and sort it out. Need to check those damn e-mails lol.

yahoo mail is working again. after 20 minutes i think i was not able to access it. it is some problem we often encounter from time to time with yahoo. i don't know if they are doing some maintenance that gives us this kind of problem. but i feel little frustrated every time i encountered t his problem cause i want to access my email or inbox immediately when i am waiting for some important notification or email from some sites. i do have to wait for them to be back for me to be able to read my emails. it is quite a hassle on our part. there is nothing we can do. it is just a normal part of their operation online to make their site free from any viruses or attacks i guess. and so i still just bear with this every time i see that they are having another maintenance or some problem accessing their site. and i have noticed when i can't access this email i can't access their main site too and sometimes the yahoo messenger as well . so i thought sometimes i have lost internet connection but will learn it is just a problem on their site only cause i was able to access other sites when i tried to access other sites to check if my internet connection problems or not.

Well yeah true Yahoo guys did send a noticficaltion menitioning that it will not be working on Friday March 13th and will start working from March 14th midday. Mine is working now very well. Hope its working for U.

Right that was because it was upgrading something there and there was a notice about it a few days ago. But it's fine now, I could get in without any problem. Hope it works for you now!

Oh I haven't experienced that with Yahoo! Mail. Try to refresh the page and if didn't work maybe Yahoo! Mail is really having some troubles in your country. Good Luck and may you be able to access your Yahoo! Mail at once. Have a great day!

Hi danishcanadian: I haven't had the problem with yahoo mail, but I'm not surprised. I have had this sort of problem since November 2008 with AOL, Internet Explorer, and Hotmail. I spetd a month on the phone with Microsoft, and wound up fixing the problem myself. Afterward, they kept calling me every day, several times a day. One day I was near the phone when they called, so I answered and told them I fixed the problem myself. They asked me how, but I didn't tell them. Give this a try: Sign in, then go to the site again as though you were going for the first time and see if you can get into your mail. I find that often times when I do this, it works and I can check my mail. Lately, I've been getting more and more site that I can't access with one error message or another. I thinks it's important to note that these problems didn't start happening until I switched to Vista. Let me know how you make out. Take care....

I had this problem with sympatico yesterday. I phoned and got a recording saying they were having technical difficulties so I waited it out and used my Yahoo email when I could. I have been gone all day so haven't checked Yahoo yet but I am surprised to see there doesn't appear to be any mail in my yahoo inbox (it shows up in my toolbar). I usually get several emails a day in that account. This response is much later than when you responded; don't know whether problems have been fixed yet or not.

In the last several weeks I have had this problem repeatedly. When I could access my account I couldn't send an email so I am changing over to gmail. I think Yahoo is having financial and their maintenance is getting lax. Time to move!

I get that every now and then, I just wait it out, they will get the server fixed soon.

I get that every once in a while, but it is generally gone in just a few minutes, if not seconds. I always figure it is just me and all the other problems I seem to have with my computer. I don't think it has ever lasted as long as 20 minutes, but if it did I would go to something else or turn the darned thing off altogether! Good luck with it!!
