Have you ever bought dinner from your grocery store's Deli section?

At most grocery stores, they have a Deli. They have a section where you can buy speciality cakes and on the other side they have a scetion where you can buy a homemade dinner. The Deli cooks everyday and they serve many types of hot food. They do breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know this may be the last place that a person may go to get food from. But, when you sit and think about it, these places are becoming very popular to eat from. Just last week, I bought a dinner from Piggly Wiggly, and I had, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, meatloaf, a piece of fried chicken thigh and of course, an apple cobbler for dessert. The meal was pretty good. It all just depends on what you want to buy. The more things that you get the more that it will cost you. My meal came out to be over $8.00. I thought that was a little high... But, I did had a good bit of things.. I will try this Deli out again to see what next thing on the menu that they will serve.. Have you tried your local grocery store's Deli for food?
And the grocery store, also has a side section where you can sit down to eat too. This is a great area tp relax and eat food from the Deli..

Not dinner, but, I have bought lunch from there and brought it home. I love the cheese and broccoli soup and the olive bar. Sooooooo delicious! There was even one time when I went to the store and bought the food at the deli and just sat down at one of the tables and had my lunch right there. It was great! I'm going to do it again very soon!

One of the HEB grocery Stores in McAllen Texas has a deli section with a full time cook. They are baking specialties everyday, and passing free tastes to the shoppers. There is a small sit-down area where shoppers can have their lunch, by a glass counter filled with meats, salads, breads, and desserts. The HEB Grocery stores in Texas are among the best in the country.

Our grocery stores here have Deli's where they cook food, and you can buy anything from cooked ribs, to meatloaf. One store has a special dinner everyday of the week, like Tues. are Chicken Tuesday's, where you can get a 8 pc. chicken and two side dishes and even rolls for 7.98, and a 2 liter pop, they also have boneless chicken, popcorn chicken, and you can also get a rib dinner for about the same price. I like stopping in for a chicken dinner if I'm running late getting home and don't have time to cook anything, its a fast dinner and its good, and reasonably priced.

Hey cream! I have only tried the roasted chicken a few times
when I wasn't in the mood to cook! It was $6 for an already
cooked chicken and it was really good! My boyfriend and I got
two meals out of it so it really did pay off! I get food stamps
and they won't pay for anything that is already prepared so I
don't buy things from the deli too often. But this was really
good and we did get it a few times. I can't afford to go out
to eat, so when once in awhile I don't want to cook this is
a great alternative!

The only thing I have ever brought like that was a cooked chicken on holiday for a quick meal,but seeing that they now do roast potatoes and veg make me think it is a good idea,but we cannot eat it in store as they don't have any tables.We have a cafe in our store where you can eat sitting down but it is so expensive these days.

I have not done that often. Our local grocery store is known for its fried chicken. When we have a picnic, their chicken is the thing to have. Once in a great while, I will get their chicken for a dinner at home. I don't care for their potato salad or macaroni salad. I make my own side dishes.

Hubby loves when I buy him the chicken dinner. It's like 8 pieces of chicken and then I get him a big container of potato salad. It's enough for about 2 days for him. Sometimes when I'm out running errands I stop at the Deli and get potato wedges, corn nuggets or a pizza stick...I think it's better for you, more sanitary and better prepared then the fast food around town...and it's better priced.

Hi cream97! Yes, there are some grocery stores that have the Deli section and it offers home cooked meals. Whenever, I got late from grocery shopping and know that I will have no more time to cook, I often buy meals for take out. The food is great but it is not really a very practical thing for me to do since it is a little expensive for me.

hi cream 97 long time since I have seen you, yes Vons has
a really great deli and if you choose some of their specials
on salads and main courses, and meats, your meal can be
rather reasonable. I used to take several different salads home from their deli after work and incorporate them into my dinner,
it was so good too, Vons is pretty reasonable but if you do get a lot of stuff it would be more pricey but they are so clean, and so fresh, and so tasty its fu n to eat there.

we bought our thanksgiving dinner at publix deli.. a huge turkey with all the sides etc.. but usually i wont because i dont like the food or they dont have big enough portions etc
