So without any mind of consequence I took a leap today and attempted my first real Wet Felt. I started spinning a couple of months ago and I am nuts about it. I don't have many talents, let alone a natural talent, but spinning just has that "feeling" for me. I don't knit or crochet but I love spinning. My girlfriend knit me a pair of fingerless gloves from the first "real" yarn I spun which is a rainbow varigated romney that is plied with white romney. they are gorgeous and I love them but today I decided they must be felted and form fitted. So here is the kicker. I just put on my gloves and then hopped in the shower and went at it. While enjoying my wonderful hot shower, I scrubbed these bad boys together sooo darned hard. It is totally working and now I am letting them dry while wearing them. I was afraid they might either shrink too much or felt together, so on they must stay. Has anyone else ever wet felted in the shower. It's a blast. Share your stories.

Well, with 300 sheep to tend, I just haven't found the time to do any spinning or anything much else for that matter. In the very few hours that I do have free, I go fishing, actually. Or horseback riding. I'm a pretty boring old fart.

haha, I used to be a die hard action adventure punk rocker. I've lived in remote places on the earth and done some really daring things. I've climbed big rocks and wintered "the divide" in a tent. Now I run a donut shop by day and quietly write and spin yarn by night. I entirely understand feeling like an old fart. I've never had 300 sheep but I used to tend to 75 horses and I breed thousands of roaches for my leaping lizards to munch on. Sounds like you have your hands full though. thanks for the reply

Strange coincidence, I worked on a 70 head horse farm and was the only employee to the 80 yr old owner. I had collected 8 of my own mares and a stallion, but the hubby told me to get rid of the hay burners, so I got 12 sheep 14 yrs ago and the rest is history. Now I have 300, and I am called "A Going Concern" in my industry now. I am the only one here in my Country with Booroola Sheep, that were originally discovered in Australia. EWWWWWWW! Roaches!! Egads. They give me the willies. I am afraid of spiders because I get spider bites in the summer months. I swear they hunt me down to get a piece of me. Everybody else says I'm crazy (going joke) and that spiders don't bite. I KNOW THEY DO! But the Lizards sound cool. I love snakes, too. If I find one, I chase the hubby around the yard for excitement. He runs funny and he is terrified of them.
