Do your co - worker act like your superior?

There is a co - worker at my work, who act like a superior to all of us. He is old, and we respect him. He has work there longer than any of us. That doesn't justify that he is our boss besides our real supervisor. He told us what to do, and we must listen to his command. I just can't stand this kind of people. Do you ever encounter such person at work?

this discussion reminds me of a former coworker who acts as if we need to follow his orders. he is related to the president so maybe he thought he can order us around. one time he made some last minute instructions and assigned tasks to us, what i did was pretended not to know what he is talking about and went on with what i am doing. =)

Hi clorissa! Yes I do encounter some co workers like that. Of course, we have to respect not only them but all our other co workers too. But honestly, it's so irritating when they act like a boss to us. Even if they are older than us, we can still feel bad. For me, I guess everybody should act in accordance to our position in a company regardless of age differences. But it seems that there are really people who are like that. And it's their attitude and practice already so we tend to just understand it. But sometimes it will destroy relationships as colleagues and it's not healthy in the workplace.

Well if they are training you you have to listen and do what they say if you want to learn the job.

If a person acts like a superior and also do have more longer work experience, then instead of getting irritated if one takes advantage of more experienced persons experience life becomes easier in a workplace.

Well people are of different characters and this one seems that has a boosy character. well I worked with different tpye of people and it is true that sometimes some people really bother you and feels superior than you. You have just to ignore his commands and continue your work at your pace and at your way.
