Getting married.. Scary or not?

One of my friends, has a problem, and for him this is not easy to do. He says "it takes time .". The problem was, his long time girlfriend came to him and tells him that she wanted a family and she wanted to get married to my friend. My friend was shocked, and just changed the topic. Now my friend came to us telling us about this big problem of him, I told him, "Whats the problem on getting married?" And he says he just dont like to have a family yet. He was really worried about this problem. He even can't sleep at night, this was really bothering him. what do you think he would do? Or what do you think is the real problem here? Do you think some men always scared of getting married or having a family?
