I suggest you try GetAFreelancer or Odesk, you can have more options there as well as a bigger audience especially if you are a good and dedicated writer. I've had some gigs in GAF before and the least that i got is for $12 making comments. so it really is more diverse than just the normal writing.

I have been publishing with AC for a couple of years, and while they don't pay a great deal of money, it's a good part-time income. I also sell article through Constant Content. They sell to third-party customers and you can set your own price, although you do pay a hefty commission when something sells. It costs nothing to join either site, though. You can find links on my profile page if you are interested.

Associated Content accepts submissions for publications on their own site. Some articles they will pay for, and some they don't (poetry, memoirs, stuff like that), depending on the subject and what form of article it is. But all posted articles are eligible for page view bonus (I think it's a penny for every six PVs). I submit many of mine for free and then I am free to sell them for reprint rights on CC or post them other places. I've been making about $40 a month in residual income, just on page view bonus. Not a lot of money, but every little bit helps these days. The community is also great, very friendly and helpful. With Constant Content, you submit your articles and then they sell them to third-party customers who need content for their own blogs, web sites, or newsletters. You can set your own price for your articles, and can choose to sell them for reprint rights or full rights. It cost nothing to submit, but CC takes a 35% commission on sales. Constant Content is very particular about proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation, but the few articles I've had rejected for minor errors were accepted once I fixed them. I have made a decent part-time income with them over the last two years. I'm sure I could do better if I had more time to write! With CC, you also get a percentage of the earning of your referrals, which helps a bit. I just wish mine would write more!
