I love this game too, and I play badminton every week. My skills are not very good and playing badminton is just an entertainment for me. What I want to gain from the sport is just happiness. But I still have my own opinion about how to play well. That is, to calm down first before playing badminton and take it easy. Don't be always thinking of winning the game.

If you do have the feeling, you can have a deep breath before you play badminton and say to yourself: it's just an game, or you may just do some preparations for the game, but you'd better keep your mind empty. When you are playing badminton, ensure that the only thing you remember is to try your best without considering the result. I believe you can do well. Remember: believe yourself, you're the best!

I found a sport in badminton. I play it back in college. Though I don't play it best, I know I play good. I have few tips that will keep you going in this game. These tips were given to me by my co-varsity players and my coach back in college and I hope it will be able to help you. First you need to keep in mind that badminton like any other sports is more on endurance. The longer you can maintain your energy, the better. Next is a good grasp of the sport's basics, like different kinds of racket grips, different hand, and most specially foot works. Then you also need a quick eye. A good judgment of where the shuttlecock will be landing is a must. Though it is a plus to have mastered all techniques in badminton, it will also be better if you're quick witted. You need to know the opponents game plan. You may take notice of that when you're already in the play. I don't know if you had encountered being given a cross court, but you need to be aware. A knowledge of footwork will allow you to overcome that type of play. By the way, cross court is like your opponent is sending the shuttlecock on the opposites sides of the court and making you run from left to right of the court. Finally, if you feel this is too much information, I think you would want to hire a personal coach so he can provide you with the basics.:-

Thank you for your advices! It's a pity that there is no professional badminton gym,I have downloaded some teaching video,it is helpful, but the key to improve it is that I can implement what I learn from the program.
