Do Kids Really hate to Eat Vegetables?

So many ads on TV involve kids hating to eat vegetables such as the hidden serving in Chef boy Ardee(sp) that causes the mother to bang things around so the kid can't hear her husband read the label or the one that says kids like vegetables in Hidden Valley but that is because of salad dressing. I know when I was a kid, my sister and myself ate vegetables with no problems. Maybe it was because our Mother fixed good meals that included vegetables and didn't feed us fast food or mac and cheese and such things. What about you, did you like to eat vegetables or are the ads true for you?

i think if children are fed veggies when they are small they will like them . i think the problen is that so many young mothers don't cook or if they do it's something quick. i think it all starts at home. my mother cooked & we ate it & never thought about questioning what was on the table like kids so nowadays. i can only think of a couple of things my mother cooked that i didn't like. we were also taught how to say no thank you when a dish was passed.

My mother worked the whole time I was growing up but she still managed to have a good dinner for my Dad, my sister and myself. Even when I was in college and she worked evenings, she would fix something(a whole meal) in the morning before she went to work and leave it for me to warm in the oven at dinner time.

I like vegetables. I liked tomatoes the way my mother used to serve it, green, sliced with salt. My kids love it too. Cheers!!

I like peas and broccoli best. In recent years I have come to like tomatoes more than I used to and put them on sandwiches which I never used to do. I also use tomatoe sauce to cook things in some of my own recipes.

I liked most vegetables...except for peas which had a texture I didn't like...and so did my brother and one sister. My other sister didn't like much of anything, including vegetables. I raised four kids and all of them liked most vegetables, too, but I guess there are kids who don't.

I think that most of our likes and dislikes are because of the way we were brought up. At my mothers' house, we learned to eat everything, and enjoy it too. My kids don't love veggies very much, because I was forced to go back to work, and my mother in law raised them. For me, I had only to be with them for like 3 hours at night time, that's mostly bath them, play a little bit and prepapre them for bed.Not give them a good meal, because at night time it will make their tummy hurt. I tried, but in one day a week that I was all day home, I ddi not have a big success.

That is too bad you could not have been with your kids more. You are right a lot of our likes and dislikes come from how we are brought up. I had some food allergies as a kid which had some influence on what I ate but did not involve most of the common vegetables.
