How do you want your Bangus to be cooked?

Bangus is one of my favorite fish food in the Philippines. I know it is very expensive in the market but, when my mom buys a big one, I always tell her to grill it with the toppings inside (tomatoes, onions etc.). It is really tasty and you get to eat it with hot rice and toyo with calamansi as your sauce. Oh and I love eating bangus with my hand not with the utensils. Hehehe. Oh! Sinigang na bangus plus fried bangus is also good. How about you? How do you like your bangus to be cooked?

Sinigang na Bangus is my favorite. I love Bangus especially the belly! Actually everybody in the family love the belly. Next to Sinigang is the grilled Bangus stuffed with tomatoes and onions. And lastly, Daing na bangus -- the one soaked in vinegar and garlic. Yummy! Goes well with garlic fried rice and tomatoes :)

I love Bangus I like it being cooked as Sinigang, fried, grilled, steamed, Rellenong Bangus, Daing na Bangus and even Tinapang Bangus There are some processed products in the supermarket right now like Ham, Hotdog, and Longganisa which are also made from Bangus

You can buy it at SM Supermarkets, they also have a free taste so that you will know how it tastes like... it tastes so good like the other real processed meats

I never knew that the supermarket has those processed products of bangus. Or maybe I wasn't looking at it and just focused on the big fish. Hehe. I wonder what it tastes like. I will try that if ever I see one. Thanks for answering. ^_^

I would really like it friend and crisp and use vinigar to eat it with. I get to eat lots of rice with that kind of set up which I very like. The other ways of cooking that milk fish is also good, and tasty but, of all things that I could choose on how that milk fish can be cooked, I would always want it to be fried.

Hi taki... I prefer my Bangus deep friend(daing na bangus). Oh, and make that one boneless, too! Sometimes, this fish frustrates me due to the many bones that I have to pick carefully. But just the same, bangus is delicious. There are times that I prepare sinigang na bangus or paksiw na bangus. But not too often because of the difficulty of picking up the bones. And you're right, they are expensive. So, if I have the extra budget, I buy two large packs of daing na bangus and prepare them for breakfast. That's a good way to start the day. Daing na bangus with sinangag!Yumm-yummmm!!!

fried daing na bangus is my favorite. yum! you're making me hungry, and i have just eaten! augh! for me it's best with soy sauce and calamansi waahh!! especially if the milkfish is fresh. here in baguio they also sell it marinated already (P60 for three big pieces), but i got tired of eating it for days at end that's why i prefer the ones bought fresh. yumyumyum!

same here kayedanda! and I find that it tastes better if I sprinkle just a few sugar on the belly as I fry it! Mouth watering! And one can never go wrong with fresh bangus, you can do just about anything with it and it is Yummy!

Hi my friendtaki_takaishi, good day to you, well me i also love eating bangus (milk fish) but the problem on is, it is very hard to it because of it's little bones (tinik) hehe LOL. . . That's why when my mother is going to cook a bangus it must be dried boneless bangus or sinigang na bangus. . . When eating milk fish, i really give a lot of time just to identify the meet of the fish to it's little tiny bone (tinik). . . Well i would like to add, this i love eating fish as long as they do not have bones, in order for me to eat easily. . . I really hate "matinik", i really got mad when that thing, happen to me when i enjoy eating especially when i am really hungry. I lost my hunger when that thing happen to me. . . Last i would like to add that if you will ask some Filipino who really love to eat, i think it will be 8 over 10, because Filipinos are really love eating fish like bangus. . . Well that's all my response to your discussion entitled "how do you want your bangus to be cooked?". I hope i give a very interesting response , thank you. Happy earning and posting.mabuhay and GODBLESs us always. . . =)

Yes, boneless bangus is much better than the ones with bones. Though, what makes it nice with the bangus with bones is that you get to chat with people you are eating with. Hahaha. Thanks for replying. ^_^

mine would be sinigang na bangus sa miso specially the belly part of it (its less bony than other parts).. the soup is also tastier than regular soups.. i also like it when it is daing na bangus.. it is good when it is newly fried and it sizzles when you dip in vinegar!! yum yum yum!! eating daing na bangus is best when you do it with bare hands!!

I like mine fried mixed with lots of tomatoes. If there is no tomatoes around I just hook it up with vinegar and lots of rice. I also go for the steamed one once in a while. There's a lot of varieties for the bangus which sometimes my wife cooks for me.

I haven't tried steamed bangus. Hehehe. Well, I guess I should ask my Mom to cook one. Thanks for answering. ^_^
