Hello all! I'm dik_an from Indonesia. Indonesia is a part of Asia, the most famous island in Indoesia is Bali. I'm living here almost 18 years and now, I study aboard in my neighbor, Malaysia. Ok, I will tell you more about my country. The capital city of my country is Jakarta, which is the most crowded place in Indonesia. We called our money "Rupiah" and use it everyday. The population of Indonesia is almost 250 billion people LOL. Mainly our land is tropical, so that is why we have many forests and uniwue creatures like "Orangutan", "Komodo", ect. The people of Indonesia are from different ethnics (almost 300 ethnics thre), some of them are bugisnese, bataknese, javanese, achenese, and so on. Each of them has different culture and ethnic language, but we all are Indonesian who speaks Bahasa Indonesia. How about you friends? Where are you come from? I think, there we can have friends around the world, it's wonderful to have friends in mylot and share together.

Hello from the Philippines I am 30 years old now, committed to a relationship and living in the Manila which is the capital city of our country. We have 7,113 islands in our archipelago but your country Indonesia has 13,000+ islands! Our country's population in 2007 was 88.57 million and expects 92.23 million this 2009 according to http://www.census.gov.ph/ The name of our country came from King Felipe II of Spain, it was called Filipinas before and changed to Philippines later on. Our money used to be Pesetas during the Spanish time but its called Philippine Pesos now. Our country has a lot of blood mixes, Black (which we called Itas were the natives) then a large group of Indonesians, Malaysians, Chinese and Arabs came here by big boats millions of years ago before we were colonized by the Spanish in 16th century. The Americans colonized us for a long while but the Spanish colonized us for 333 years. The Japanese also colonized us during the World War 2 but the Americans got us back and gave us our independence in 1947. Our official language is Filipino (or "Tagalog") it has some similarity to Malaysian language and some Spanish but we have 80 different dialects and ethnic tribes throughout the country. Our country has a great tourism like yours since we have lots of nature and marine tourist destinations. English is our second language and spoken all over the country. Since our country has a lot of mixed cultures through time, we have different cuisines and delicacies in every town. I love Filipino food and my country

Hello dik_an and welcome to mylot! I live in the United States, in the state of Florida, which is in the south eastern part of the country so it's warm here all year long. Florida is not very wide and has oceans on three sides, the Atlantic and the Gulf. I live in the south part of the state, in the center, so I don't live near the coast but many beaches are only two hours away. The area that I live in is called the Everglades. There are many large cattle ranches down here and also large groves of citrus trees...oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, lemons and limes. I love those because they smell so great, especially this time of year. They also grow sugar cane down here which is used to make sugar. This part of Florida also has wildlife, most of which you want to stay away from. We have a lot of rivers and canals here that are home to alligators and snakes. We have a small canal that runs through our back yard so we have to keep our eyes open when we're near it. There are also large turtles living in our canal, which some people like to cook and eat but we don't allow anyone to catch our turtles. There are also big cats down here but not where I live. Florida is also home to many large, beautiful birds which I love.
