josef fritzl the monster who has pleaded guilty to the horrific treatment of his daughter and other horrendous offence's, was today sentenced to life. He is serving his sentence in a secure psychiatric facility what are your thoughts on this do you think he should be in a secure facility or in a prison. Also what about his wife how could she not know there was something wrong when its under neath their house. As a single dad I think he is an absolute monster and I wish he was put in a prison and the key thrown away so he can think of his actions till the day he dies. What about you guys and girls.

I think it is disgusting that he is not going to a normal prison, what he did is just a crime, when I see the film of him living it up on a beach while he had his daughter locked up makes me feel there is nothing wrong with his mental area...when we think about it I think maybe everyone who kills is probably sick in some way so what do we do , no he belongs in a prison...he is a disgrace...

I totally agree with you, it just shows you that theres some sick people out there. I wish they would lock him up in prison and let him rot. As he has wrecked 9 lives his wife his daughter and the kids he has fathered.

The world that has been used by you for Josef is appropriate. He can not be termed as a human being. I think he must be hanged. Though the law don't allow this but is a society needs a man like him. Any way if there is not any provision for hanging then at least keep him in prison. Secure facility is not for him. I have also seen a lot of psychic patient but this case is really horrific. May God don't allow this to happen again in future. I don't have any idea about his wife. In India, it is he and his act is being discussed seriously. So, no comments on her. And at last, Thanks for raising a point like this on mylot.

I don't think psychiatric facility is enough for what he has done. I mean seven children with his daughter. Trapped them all in the cellar underneath the house for years! I couldn't imagine what could have happened if I'm that daughter or I'm those children. What life will they be in after all these horrific ordeal? He should be sent to prison, like all the other inmates. Yes, he's crazy, but he is indeed guilty. He planned out that cellar, enjoyed himself while violating his daughter! Oh my gosh! I don't know how the daughter feels now, knowing that the man who has destroyed her future is locked up safely and comfortably, while she is alone facing the world of whom she has not been living in for a long while. She's uneducated, has been violated before her maturity, and now she has several children. Whew! As for the wife, I don't think she's innocent. Any wife who stays at home would clean the surroundings and would soon find a way in. Those children couldn't have been too quiet because they're kids! They are noisy. Whew!

I also think this horrible man should spend the rest of his life in a jail cell...not in a psychiatric facility. While I do agree that he is sick and I understand that he was abused as a child, I see no reason to show compassion to a man who showed none to his own daughter for so many years. As far as his wife goes, she may not have known anything since the basement area was soundproofed and she had said that she was forbidden from going down there. Also, the entrance was locked. I don't believe this jerk was a very nice husband either so I feel sorry for her as well.

but surely if your partner said you were forbidden to go into your basement you'd want to go down I know I would get suspicious and gain entrance or ring the police to gain entrance down there. But yeah I am ashamed to breathe the same air as this horrific monster. And hope that the kids never find out anything about their father as that would just wreck your life I dont think I could handle being told if my dad did anything like that.

Don`t know benny, I think everything in this matter is wrong but I am not judge and I don`t know what should I do if I am (judge, that is).Nevertheless this is sick and ugly side of life and I think this is not isolated incident. There is lots of dirt out there and in our heads! We have lots of work in our own backyard.

I think the verdict was just fair because of what he did in his own daughter, I think daughters should be loved well rather than treated that way.

The man is sick, my guess is he was controlling and abusive not only to his daughter but his wife as well. He told her not to go down there and she had no choice but to listen. The man should be locked up in a basement somewhere and be kept isolated with a little torture thrown in for good measure for the rest of his life. Which I would hope would be long and miserable.

This man is really a monster he is not human in my eyes, he has a look about him that just makes my skin crawl. He planned this whole thing with his daughter and to have her hidden for so many years it's just mind boggling how he managed it I am not giving him any credit mind you it just shows how insane he was that he brainwashed her and the children for so many years. He is not sorry about what he did he is sorry he got caught the jerk.

i'm with u ! i think there's a lie in this case, there is no way that his wife didnt know anything about what her husband did. it could be he treaten her not to say anything, or else he will do something bad to her too. but thats just my thoughts though, one thing for sure there's something wrong with his mental..

That monster deserves even a heavier penalty. The authority are the only ones who can decide whether to put him in psychiatric confinement or jail. But I wish him all the hell!

i dont know which one he should be in but at least he is some where he can hurt people any more. i think people who do that stuff think about what they did right after they did it and no they r going to get caught but i dont think it would really bother him while he is in there he had to be crazy. what i think they should do to people who hurt others like that there should send them some where that people who dont like americas and let them people just do what they want to do to them.

Life sentence is nothing but waste of money. Instead of providing ife sentence they can bve set free or they should be punished in Arabic way. Life sentence is nothing but waste of time.
