Anti Virus Software

I currently use Avast Anti Virus software on my computer, a free download from the Avast web site, for home use, and have found it to be fantastic, and it even updates itself automatically as well. Not bad considering it is Free.
Do you use Anti Virus Software and which one do you use ?

I use it too Jason and never had ANY problems with it at all. I had Norton years ago but it gave problems to my computer making it slow. AVG for me!

Thanks for your comment, I use to use AVG a while back after giving up on Norton, it just got too expensive, but for some reason, and I don't know why, I switched to Avast.
Don't see the point or the advantages of paying for Norton or similar when there are excellent packages for Free doing the same job.

Not sure, thing different companies but do the same job, although I could be wrong, especially as names change and companies merge and involve so quickly nowadays.

now, im currently using steganos anti-virus software. Steganos is an all in one security suite that is also a free software. As so far, this is the best anti virus software that i ever use for standalone pc. It does not slow down and consume your system resource and updates automatically.

Thanks tenchi18ph for replying to me, I haven't heard of steganos Anti Virus software before, I presume it does the same sort of thing, that is protect the computer from Viruses, as good as AVG and Avast.
By the way, I would just like to add a quick welcome to you on here, I hope that you make plenty of friends here on Mylot, and enjoy yourself in the discussions.

I am using avg free pack past three years! normally it is updating from internet every week! i feel it is secure!

I use to use avg myself, but for some reason swapped to Avast, although I can't remember why, but I think they do the same job, which is the main thing.
