Do you like eating street food? (fish ball, squid ball, chicken ball, isaw,etc.)

I know I talk about food a lot lately, sorry about that. But it is fun to talk about food here in the Philippines.
Anyways, I am not that a huge fan of street foods (fish ball, squid ball, chicken ball, etc.), but I eat some when I don't have much money. A 10 pieces of 50cent fish ball is already enough for me, of course, with a 7pesos soft drink, I am already satisfied with that as my lunch if my lunch money isn't enough. Another one is isaw. I buy some when I have enough money or when my friends invite me to eat some. It only cost around 3pesos to 8pesos (it depends what you order).
I know there are some risk when you eat street foods. Most people complain because of sanitary purposes. But, we can't avoid it even though it really taste good. Hehehe.
How about you? Do you eat street food? You know there are a lot of risks although we can't avoid that it is cheap and it tastes.

Street food are amazing!!! I even find them more appetizing than that of a restaurants especially those stalls with clean environments. I even had a time when I was about to go home but I saw this fish ball vendor outside our school. I just couldn't resist the smell of fish balls. I even began to taste the sweet and spicy sauce I usually combine. Nam..Nammmmm......!
Arghhh...just talking about it makes me wanna go out and buy some!

What is isaw?
I love street food and I gorge on them whenever I can. Of course now being in mid 30’s I have to watch a lot about what I eat and I mostly avoid oily food even then there are so many tempting varieties of street food that I can hardly resist. I don’t care much for hygiene since I have had street food since childhood so my stomach must have become immune by now…I have never really fallen sick after having street food.

Isaw is a kind of street food where they sell chicken or pork body parts. If you know balat ng baboy, they grill that or chicken intestines grilled. But I like dugo (pork liver) most when grilled. They usually sell isaw at night.
Well, I have to admit that street foods are nice but, of course, it is dangerous that is why I only eat when I have extra money or when I am in a hurry.

I ate street food before but I am keeping myself away from it. In terms of cross contamination, there is really a great risk. Most infection nowadays came from food that we eat that's we have to prevent the infection than to cure it.

A little advise my friend. If you feel hungry you don't need to eat everywhere or just take whatever in front of you. You always have a choice.

Yah. I am trying to prevent myself eating some because I am not even sure either if it clean. I only eat when I am hungry and I am in the middle of the street food area.

Where I live there is not a lot of street foods. And as far as eating fish, we don't eat a lot of it, as it is expensive. Especially now with the recession. So I have a tendency to purchase canned tuna in water. At least we can afford that.

You are very welcome, I just add cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, noodles and peas, plus the tuna. Makes a great casserole.

Hello Taki_takaishi, for me i like eating street foods, but with moderation of course, we don't like to get hepatitis. I like fishballs and squidballs and that green mango dipped into bagoong. I used to remember when i was in elementary, after school, me and my classmates would buy ice scramble, ice candy or singkamas with bagoong again.
I also miss that nilupak thing, i haven't tasted that for a hundred years 
, i wonder why they don't sell it now. But anyway i will never have to chance to taste it here though. I also like chicken barbecue like isaw and that balun balunan ( i forgot what they call it there).
On drinks, i really miss sago't gulaman because there is no such thing like that here . I also miss penoy (duck egg) and halo halo.

Yah. street foods are really good and of course we should eat less. I really love gulaman. Tasty gulamans are sold at Divisoria, there is this stall ho sells tasty gulaman. Hehehe.

I'm a fan of fish ball, squid balls, kikiam and dirty ice cream. They call it dirty but still I eat it hehehe. Every food has a risk for us, its a matter of dicipline on how many times we eat that same type of food. Even restaurants have sanitary problems, its just a matter of being healthy and not prone to sickness.

I love isaw. I always prefer it over fish balls. But I don't eat isaw for lunch. For fish balls, squid balls and kikiam, these are readily available in the supermarket's frozen section. I buy my own pack and cook them myself for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Yes! I love street foods like isaw, barbecue, and hot dogs sold by street vendors. I also eat the indian mangoes and green mangoes with bagoong sold along the way. I am very much aware of the risks of getting ill because of eating such food in which we are not certain if they were handled properly by the vendors. That's why whenever i am seen by my mom eating these stuff i always got scolded. But what can I do, they are not only cheap, they are also very tasty.

hmm.... i grew up eating junk food.. lol.... all through school years till now... hehehee.... cant resist...i love those indian junk food.. it taste soo great... plus here.. in toronto.... now i dont see any junk foods around... and i kind of miss it alot... so when i get the chance to go back... i have junk food like every day when im there..... here.. you get like fish or beef balls.... with curry sauce in pacific mall.... and thats where i head when i feel like eating them... and plus you get all those yummy bubble tea and fruity drinks... yum yum yum... now you made me crave those foods..a www.....

i eat street food when i was still a student, but now, i don't. it is not about the risks, i don't enjoy it anymore. when i eat street foods, i like it when you are with your classmates...
but i miss those days. eat these foods at the nearest food stalls inside the malls. and it costs four times than those.

I really can't get to eating street food as they are not hygenic. I am really concerned about cleanliness especially in matters of food and I wouldn't eat street food. I think this habit has more to do with the fact that I was not encouraged to eat street food by my parents when I was younger. It just continued that way. Have a nice day!

i live in NYC and there is every type of food you can imagine on the street. people are very judgmental about it, but i think it's quite tastey. i also feel like it's probably just as clean as many restaurants here. just my thoughts. are there any other people who live in NYC who agree or disagree?
