slumdog millionaire: what do you think about the movie?

I've seen the movie just recently and was so amazed by it. It was able to show the real situations in third world countries like mine, and with the two brothers showing different ways on how you could deal and survive in those kinds of situations, with the rewards and consequences of whatever ways you have chosen.
It also has the twist of how people from third world countries can still have fun living their lives watching late night game shows despite of their situations. I liked the creative way they integrated Jamal's experiences and the way he won "Who wants to be a Millionaire". Experience really, is still the best teacher! lol!
This movie really touched me. How about you? What do you think about it?

I am from India,
I've seen that movie, it was very good story line movie with twist.
but it was not oscar award winner movie except the music of AR Rehmaan( the Great Musician of India)
there are many othere movies which are best then that
A.R. Rehmaan Best Musician
He has composed music in many movies then this one.

No I havnt seen this movie yet but kind of want to now after hearing all the praise this movie got which I never cared to see it before. But im going to have to rent it even though I dont know if its out on dvd or not wich I thought it came out before the academy awards but dont know ill have to look into it. And if it is ill rent it at blockbuster tomorow.

I liked the movie too...though it was not my type of movie....but it wasn't worth this much fuzzz...Surely good everything but wasn't that great a movie

Hi harshrosicky. I think this kind of movie can be appreciated more from a person's subjective point of view and not on the technical aspects. More on the bigger picture of what's really happening and the lessons that a person could learn.
The person watching could relate more if he has experienced or have seen and knows people who are experiencing the same thing. So it's really more of how a person could relate to it.
As what you've said, this is not your type of movie. What kind of movies do you watch by the way? =)

I think it is a great movie. After watched that movie, I recommended my friends who haven't yet to watch it. That movie touched me. It inspires me not to give up in everything I do and also always have a faith for a better life.

Yeah, I agree with you xiaoling, it really has a great lesson to learn. Especially the roles played by the two brothers, it really happens in third world countries. Now I'm wondering if the writer really experienced some of the scenes there.
