Violation and Reported

Why is it that so many of the discussions at the moment seem to have the words 'Violation' and 'Reported' in the Tags. Does this mean that someone is moderating this forum live, or do we moderate one another, although I wouldn't know how to report a violation even if I saw one. Does this also mean that it is not worth replyingto that discussion as it will be removed and our earnings also ? Any one suggestions ?

The problem is that people do start topics that are similar, yet not the same as others, but they still get reported and removed. That's not fair honestly. What happens to those who are spamming ref links? Most of them continue to post here, while others get trouble for nothing. I've been here for 3 years and have never seen such a high incidence of report tags before. It's disgusting and sure doesn't look good for new members who are trying to figure the site out. Geeze, I tell you, I saw one topic earlier that needed to be reported as it was mature content but the poster didn't classify it as such. And I'm sure they got away with it. Maybe myLot should post an alert to everyone just reminding them what the rules here are. It might help, but then again, some of the posters don't bother to read.

I should have, but no I didn't. I try to skip past the things I don't want to see.

With the members increasing there will also be more reporting and, sadly, more to report. Did you report the offending post that you mention?

I agree with the idea of reporting the discussion if the post is offensive or if it has referral links in it. We all know that we can't put referral links in a discussion, but direct them to a PM or to your profile. I can even understand the argument about multiple posts, but how can an individual determine what is an innocent question although perhaps similar to another but asked from a different viewpoint, and one that is just blatant copies. Some seem to slip on through the net, while others get penalised for nothing. Happy MyLotting

When we registered we signed the 'I agree' box. In the Guidelines we are asked to help the myLot staff by reporting anything which is a violation. Many of us do so. Then the myLot staff act on the reports. When users report, some of them place a tag to let others know that if they respond on a certain discussion they may well earn nothing as it is likely it will be deleted at some point.

Thanks mysdianait, don't mind the mumbling on, I do it all the time when I get my teeth into something, I just go on and on. So I take it that you don't normally respond to the discussions with the Violation in the tag ? So that also means if someone wanted to be a bit nasty, they could follow you around and Tag and report each discussion just to put people off it. Mind you, I feel it is strange that with so many discussions on tasks the last day or so, that more have not been removed. Happy MyLotting

The bit about the mumbling was for Myklj - we have a race to see who answers first and he thought that I thought that he was still at work I did actually and that's why I mumbled on more than usual - and he got first place (again! ). As for the rest... So I take it that you don't normally respond to the discussions with the Violation in the tag? Some of the tags could well be mine but that does not mean I don't respond. I requently offer explanations on discussions that will get deleted (those pertaining to anything already in the FAQs such as earnings, stars, ratings, milestone etc.) because it's inmy nature tooffer advice. I can spare a few points too to help a newbie once in a while in the hope that they will listen (and some do). So that also means if someone wanted to be a bit nasty, they could follow you around and Tag and report each discussion just to put people off it. Ifthe tags are not already full anyone can add anything. When I see a discussion with empty tags, whether I respond on it or not, I fill them up. Mind you, I feel it is strange that with so many discussions on tasks the last day or so, that more have not been removed. They will ALL go if the are repeats, milestones or talking about earnings eventually. Just watch them. One day myLot will be in this interest and suddenly several pages will be empty (then the complaints will start and they will go too!). Jason this time I mumbled at you - but you did ask a lot of questions LOL!

I am not sure who is doing that. It looks to me, that if it was Mylot, then they would not tag it, they would just delete it period. Someone else much be tagging it in violation and reporting it.

Yes stephcjh, as I have seen from the posts above, apparently when people notify admin with a violation, they automatically add a Violation Tag so to warn other members that this discussion could be removed. Thanks for your response, Happy MyLotting

Well I am starting to think I want reply now, I have only just noticed it to be fair, but what has striked me is that there seems to be so many with the violation tag on it, as if someone has just gone round out of spite and tagged them all like that in a twisted fun type of way. I presume that Admin look at the discussion first, to see if it is actually a violation of the rules. Happy MyLotting

have you noticed just to move off tangant slightly, I have over last few days noticed a marked increase in referral links being posted in discussions. Has anybody else noticed more links being posted over last few days. I personally steer clear of leaving any url's in a discussion better safe than sorry.

There's been far too much of it lately. It's a steady influx of new users who are doing that. And most of them are promoting the same programs, most, if not all of the sites they're promoting are scams. Those are the ones really needing to be reported.

If there is one response with a referral link then only that ONE response will be deleted - unless the discussion is a violation in the first place.

Thanks benny for your reply, I also have noticed an incredible increase in the amount of referral links that are being posted, mainly in the Extra money sections. Now if it is by the orginal poster, then that is just blatant abuse of the rules and what these discussions are about, and in those cases, they should be reported, otherwise they will always keep doing it, but what annoys me is when you have answered a discussion and several replies later after yours some one puts a referral link in and you think WHY ?
