How long can you stay away from your loved ones without any means of contact?

I am a person who likes to be surrounded with people, either friends or family and when I need to be away I tend to call them up everyday or send an email. If all the means of communication were broken and if I had to stay away from them, I think it would be for a maximum of 1 week that I can manage to be away from them. What about you?

I believe I have been long gone and far away from everyone in my family and love ones when I decided to work abroad to have a better future. But I do communicate with them once in a while through SMS and short calls. Right now, since I broke my laptop, we are able to communicate every weekend for a long time. VoIP really helps a lot in communicating with them in which you are not spending more in it. It's been almost 2 years now since the last time I saw them physically and I am hoping to be with them on July. Wish me luck.!!

nikky... you are giving me a blank page! Well, my husband and i leave the house at 7 a.m., work from 8 to 5, another one hour traveling home... that would be 11 hours daily monday to friday with calls and text messages to each other in between, we come home at the end of the day, so...there. My father stays with us, my mother is just in the next town staying with my two sisters and we go visit or they come have lunch with us on the weekends, my brothers and their families communicates regularly with me and they are at least eight hours travel away. Oh well, that's it.

lol 2-3 hours is very frequent. I used to do that for a few months when I was first in love, now it has come down to every 8-9 hours lol. Its sweet of you to care about her always.

I'm someone who loves to keep in touch. The longest time I am out of touch from the people who matter to me is only when I am in flight. But as soon as the plane lands, I would start sending messages to my parents and whoever wants to know that I arrived safely at my destination.

Ah yes, it is always good to inform people that you have arrived safely after a trip. I would get really nervous if someone I know din't inform. It is always nice to have people around us who care.

in my current situation, being a mom of a 3 year old, i guess only 15 minutes away from my kid is enough. that is with the fact that he is with his grandparents. he tends to be clingy to me.

Oh yes kids take to mothers often. And mothers need to keep an eye on them every second. Your 3 year old must be cute. I have a nephew who is 3 years old and can set the house on fire if we were to leave him on his own for 5 minutes lol

Personally, I've stayed away from my loved ones at maximum, for a month. That was when I had to go overseas for some army training. It's definitely hard. I would call them once a while just to hear their voices. :)

One has to make some sacrifices to build a career and thank god we have technology or it would have been so hard.

Hello nikky28! I have been away from my parents now. But still we have some contacts like calling on the phone with each other. I guess I can manage to be away without any contacts from them for 10 days and afterwards, I'll worry about them.

I live with my parents so i see them everyday. I could possibly go with out seeing my mom Monday through Friday, but on the weekends we do so much together that it's like having her there with me when we go out. I don't like going out by myself at all its to scary for me now a days. My boyfriend if i don't see him everyday i at least talk to him everyday and more than once a day because hes sick right now and i keep asking him how he is feeling. I usually do go over and seem him almost everyday and every chance i can get to see him. Hes the man in my life and without him I'm not complete.

Ohh its the same with me too. I need to talk to my bf everyday or I feel so empty. And I need someone to go out along with me too. Its boring to go out alone.
