Hmmm...i learned about internet when i was in elementary 6th grade, at that time, i dont have internet in my house, so i needed to go to the net cafe and the price per hour was really expensive. I learned internet by myself, i didnt ask anyone to teach me, i figured out it by myself! But at that time, i have no idea what was email... what WWW means... all i know, as long as i have the website address... then just type it and click... I remember the first website i opened... it was www.christinaaguilera.com. At that time, i was really a big fan of christina aguilera, she was popular with hit "what a girl wants". I bought its cassette and i saw her official website and the cover of the cassette. I was interested to open it, and i keep my pocket money, just to go to cyber net (it was the first internet cafe in the city), and yes i opened this website. My gosh... as long as i remember, it took 20 minutes just to wait its buffering! and i spent 2 bucks for 1 hour... No choice.... How about you?

I only started using the Internet when I was in college already. So I was seventeen then and was a freshman in college. It was also the time when I first used a computer. That was in 2002. Right now I cannot even remember the first site I have visited. Near my university the pc rent is about half a dollar (twenty-pesos). It may be late for me to know about computers and the Internet. I just discovered that I like computers. Before I just watch movies on Youtube. Now I create and post movies on Youtube. Before I'm just browsing we pages. Now I am creating my own site. Before I just computer software. But now I already write software. It was really fun that I've learn to use a computer and the Internet. Now I work as a Software Engineer. Now I use and contribute to the Internet.

Hey there! The first time I learn about the internet was when I was a freshman in high school. We were tought the basics about computer and how to use it. We had a computer subject in school. At first of course I have no idea what to do. But my classmate tought me how to create my own email and how to browse the internet. From then on I started learning on my own. I remember the first site, aside from Yahoo of course, that I opened was Blink182's website, forgot the name of that site though. Yeah, you will have to wait for many minutes before the web page loads up. That was the time of dial-up internet connection. Now, with the dawn of DSL and broadband internet connection, the webs pages loads up in seconds. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

Well, when i was young, there were no PC's. A computer was a huge machine used by businesses...lol I never really got on the internet til I was in my 30's about 13 years ago. The first site I was on, was ebay!..I was so excited and would sit for hours bidding on stuff and waiting right by the bid button for the end of auctions, hoping to win. That was back before they had the "Buy it NOw" button on many auctions!

Goodness me! I only discovered the internet about 7 or 8 years ago! I didn't use it at work and didn't think I needed the World Wide Web in my life until my husband decided to buy an old dinosaur of a PC for a hundred bucks. My sister helped us to set it all up and I had no idea how to even send an email. We had dial up internet and to start the machine it took about 10 minutes and the whole thing was so slow! If the phone rang the connection dropped out and of course we couldn't use the phone and surf the net at the same time. It's amazing how far I've come since then, we've had three newer computers since then and we have three in the house now! I log on everyday and I rely on my laptop and the internet for my work and would be quite lost without it.

Maybe what it was in sixth grade...then started using it in ninth I think when I started using IM Then realized it's importance in college. Then after college realized I don't need television anymore- I had the internet! Yeah, I'm glad the buffering and the dial internet times are over.

When I was in grade school there was no such thing as the internet, computers took up an entire room, and it was a complicated process for one computer to connect to another via phone lines. I got my first PC when I was in my thirties and it didn't have internet capability. I was also in my thirties when I first went online using the public access at the local library. And that was just to sign up for hotmail so I could get messages related to a multi level marketing business I was involved in. I didn't use the internet for much other then email till about 8 years later when I finally got a PC that could go online. Then all I had was the free dial up and it took forever to load. I soon got the paid service at $4.99 a month. Three PC's and another 6 years later I have elite DSL.

U R luckier than me, I come from rural areas,I have heard of Internet before, then I studied in my senior Middle school, many of classmats went to Internet bar,but I could not for many reasons.... I can only use computer when we wre having computer lessons.but as far as Iam concerned, now ,in the schools in my hometown, students can touch computers in primary school.... Maybe children can touch computers much earlier in developed countries... I agree with Chairman Deng 's saying"Internet should be educated from children.....

i was in my early twenties when i learned to surf the net. that was in the 90's. it was very different then. there were no softwares to protect the computer against viruses. that time i was the first to bring the happy new year virus to the workplace's system. i was asked why i did that. did what for pete's sake? i don't even know what a virus in the computer is. fortunately, then, they found out the truth. the only guideline then to avoid viruses was if the email has an attachement, don't open it. it was years past this incident when i fully understood what a virus is and i felt very much complimented. sure, i can do a lot of things normal people can't do but i can't create a virus. footnote: that time the happy new year virus was still new and i was one of the first to receive it. so they thought i made it.

HI, I got to learn about the internet from my father. As I was very keen to know every new thing about the computer as used to spend the whole time with my father just watching him doing the work on computer and surfing on the internet without getting anything into my head about it. Then i slowly used to work on internet by opening the sites reading them and learning new and new things in it. I really today also manytimes fasinates about this box that how it is being evolved into a large information flow part where i get all infomation i want just right sitting in front of a simple computer.

Umm, Is it bad that I forget?? I remember that I was in High School, and that we spent most of our internet time on a site called www.candystand.com. I guess I would have been 15 or 16.
