I Got My Swimsuit for the Year, Did You?

I ended up getting a swimsuit from Lands End. It is a beautiful retro style swimsuit that looks like a 1950s pinup girl swimsuit! It's one piece, has thick straps in a nice design on the back and then the legs go down a bit lower than normal to cover a bit more thigh and cover the bottom entirely. I am so happy I finally found something. I should get it in the mail within a few days. So what did you end up getting this year? Or if you're still looking, what do you plan on getting?

I almost never go swimming so it is not an issue, besides I am losing weight, I have lost 15 pounds and by swimming season I hope to lose another 15...and that is just the beginning

Congrats on the weight loss! I'm trying to lose weight, which is why I'm going to try to swim more. I don't think exercising with the Wii fit is helping as much, but it is fun and keeps me moving at least. So hopefully soon the water will warm up and then I can go swimming more. I can't seem to lose any, but I finally lost a pound after that 8 mile bike ride! Today I feel like I am only half alive though. Everything hurts!

I have a desk job so I'm not very active at all at work unfortunately. I'm starting to think joining something might be the only way to do it. One of my coworkers is also losing weight on Weight Watchers. But I would rather just exercise than have to watch what I eat. One of my friends has already lost over 20 pounds on Jenny Craig, but it looks like a starvation diet to me because those meals are so tiny. Plus I'm vegetarian so I can't even go on their diet. But Weight Watchers seems to have far more options.

I know what you mean, my husband dragged me to the gym yesterday. I hurt today. I'm somewhat active at work, so that helps. I tried many times on my own, but gave up. So about 2 months ago I joined weight watchers...and have been losing.

Thanks! I am super excited and I have already lost some weight and its only been a month. I think I will only continue to loose weight till maybe toward the end of the year depending on how fast i lose it.

There was a good sale on my campus where I work and go to school so I found an amazing bathing suit for $10 or something like that. Its a one piece from Delia's with the sides cut out which I've been looking for for almost two years. I went home and tried it on and it's perfect, I can't wait for some nice weather so I can go out and wear it to the pool!

Wow! You are so lucky that style looks good on you. I wanted to get that style and tried on a few, but it never looked good at all on me.

That sounds like a lovely swim suit. I am back in my maternity swimsuit at the moment when I got to the pool because I am 29 weeks pregnant. It comes from Next and it is blue, black and white. It is amazingly stretchy to fit my bump. I used it last when I was pregnant with my toddler son.

Congrats! That is great to hear that the maternity swimsuits are good and stretchy. Most swimsuits have the belly control thing that squeezes a belly, so I would think that would be extremely painful if it didn't stretch.

I won't be buying anew one this year unless I lose a lot of weight and feel better about myself. We rarely go swimming anyway, so it is not necessary.

Aw! Well, I wish you the best of luck with the weight loss. I want to lose weight but I know realistically I probably won't so I just bought the correct size swimsuit and got one that would make me look good anyway. But if I do lose weight maybe I'll buy a second swimsuit. I tend to use swimming as my only exercise.

Since I tend to lean towards black bathing suits, I find that if I want to, I can simply reuse the one I bought from the year before unless of course, it doesn't fit anymore. So for now I'm still looking for a bathing suit--which is slightly silly though, because I always end up buying bikinis.

I didn't know that black bathing suits lasted longer. I've found that usually the elastic is all worn out on mine by the end of the summer, and my goggle band usually breaks too so I buy new goggles each year as well (but I haven't found those yet for this year, I'm very picky). I did get a bikini too, but only for home swimming and only at night because I burn easily.
