I find that you are so modest and in fact you have shown us your excellence in English. I believe you are full of spirits in learning English. So why not read more, which is a good way to put in good material. And I feel that writing here more can practice what I have learned, such as the phrases, sentence pattern etc, which can be rememeber when I type on the keyboard. So the good way is read more and put them into practice in my opinion. Glad to talk to u! Good luck!

Some like to give themselves over to a detailed thing so when it comes to the English, they know the direction they are going and never lose sight of their goal. Have fun while you are puzzling out your English, you may never know what wonderful things await you. Each of us comes to learn English hopeful, wanting in on the game! they say either a person has what it takes to play, or they don't! How well you will paly, that's up to you! lol

Let me first say that you demonstrate very good English already. We are asked in the Guidelines not to criticise others' use of English but, in your case, perhaps you would find it useful if I point out the very few mistakes you have made in your topic here. Please take what I say, therefore, in the spirit of improvement rather than feeling bad about it! You are probably using a Chinese keyboard and I know that it is quite hard to type punctuation and capital letters correctly in English on a Chinese keyboard. You probably know already, therefore, that nearly all punctuation has no space before and one space after (with some exceptions). The only corrections I would make to your passage would be: "... especially to communicate with others in foreign-funded enterprise" (an alternative might be 'overseas business') "but some people don't know how to study well. I am one of them." (We can say 'some of the rice', meaning 'not all of the rice' or 'some rice', meaning an unspecified quantity of rice.) "I come to myLot because I want to learn English well but I find I only use simple words to communicate, which has not improved my English as well as I hoped." "I should be most obliged to you if you could give me good advice" ("advice" is the noun; "to advise" is the verb.) I think that a good way of using MyLot to learn English would be to write down and look up any words you are not familiar with and, perhaps, to make a list of, say, five words and phrases every day and try to use them in your discussions and responses. It is worth remembering that there are many people, like yourself, who are learning and practising their English here, so not all of the English you will read is necessarily "good" English (and not necessarily all native English speakers write perfect English!) Apart from myLot, of course, the Internet is a great place to find good English for free. There are newspapers and many books online (a good place to find free books is Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page where you can download many classic English works or read them online.) There are also videos and radio programs which you can access if you have a fast Internet connection. If you have a microphone and MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger or one of the many other instant messaging or VoIP programs, you may also find people you can call and talk to for free.

I can understand you well. Mylot is one of the best site to learn and practice your english. They have many good writers here and we get some insight into the way they write. Besides, you need to read a lot and use your dictionary to the full. When you read, words and ideas flow out freely. You will in no time become proficient in this language. English is also my second language but I learn it quite fast because I read a lot of books in English. Good luck to you.

have you watched the movie akilla and the bee? it's about a girl and a spelling bee competition.. the girl wanted her trainer to teach her how to spell big words using the dictionary.. but the trainer believed that it would be better off for her to read big books instead so she would know how to use them.. which is why either watching movies with english subtitles or reading english books then putting them into practice would be the best thing to do..

Other than posting replies try and read as much as you can on the net. And it is more beneficial if you practice reading aloud. Other than that try to chat with friends online to improve your communication skills. And finally talk to your friends in English as much as you can.

Hi! I quit agree with you and English is so important. Recnetly I failed in the application for studying abroad, mainly because I performed bad in a spoken English interview. I did well in the part of brief introduction to myself, as I had prepared for half of the day. But in the part of commenting on part time job, and discussing freely, I say little. What a pity! I learn English for mang years. I make great efforts to remember words and phrases and read textbooks. Indeed I have master a lot of words and grammar. But I can't spesk. The day before the interview I went to the English corner of our school. But I found it was very difficult to communicate with the American teachers. I couldn't understand them and didn't know how to express myself. I found I made many mistakes even in very simple dialog. In the end I had to stop. Later I reconsidered this probem. I think that during English learners should present their ideas in English. Every day I read mylotter's comments and try to response. I believe speaking is more important. And I expect to make friends with people from English-speatking countries and English learners. I hope you to be my friends.

i think if you really want to perfect english. Make it a part of your daily life. Use it everyday. Like in school, (are you still studying??) start practicing with your friends. They can benefit from it to if they are learning English. The other way that you can enhance your vocabulary in english is by having a penpal. It'll work especialy if your determined to learn. Those two thing will help you learn in english more. And maybe you can find some friends while your at it.

I have the same trouble with you. I am working at a foreign company, not good english can't make me communicating with clients and foreign colleague fluency, and also infect my promotion. So, I must to improve it in a short time. Recently, I find mylot and consider that mylot will help me in reading and writing. The fact tell me I am right, I feel i can read more quickly and write more fluency. But speaking and speaking maybe the most important thing. A advice from a senior English guy is listening careful not more, speaking more and don't care of wrong. He said, you must understand it while you listening, listening more is not most method, first is attentively. You can try it. In addition, another english website is helpful for listening and speaking, speak2me.com ...

I want to point out writing simple words is not that you are not good in English. writing big and complex things are not always the indicator. Try to communicate verbally. Read good English story books , take us eof dictionary.

Hello friend. A good way to learn English well is to use it every day. You know, there goes the saying, "Practice makes perfect". The more you use it, the better you will be able to use it till finally you use a foreign language like the way you use your own language.

I think language environment is a vital point. If you study in English speaking countries for 2 years, you may make greater progress than studying in China for 10 years.
